If that is correct, beating IU would probably mean their NET gets to 30 meaning our win would be Quad 1 again, right? Assuming losing in the next round wouldn't drop it back below 30 again.

This has probably been discussed but with so many threads I missed it.

What it means is that Michigan will get a NCAA bid if the NET really has releavance and yes it should give Rutgers another quad 1 win.

No. The NET conveniently moved them already from 34 to 31. Why it stopped there by beating Ohio State on the road is beyond my pay grade. Big 10 seems to be getting punished.

Yes on paper it just misses being a quad 1
But its not like the committee doesnt know what a quality win is.

I really don't think it matters if Michigan moves up to Q1 for you guys (any more that it matters if SDSU drops to Q2 for UM).

The committee isn't going to judge Rutgers' resume differently because Michigan went up one to two spots in the net.

I think the bracketologists who do this for fun look blindly at Q1 and Q2 but my guess is the committee is looking much more closely as to who you beat in Q1/Q2 (i.e. beating #31 Michigan in the NET is going to be viewed more comparable to beating the #28 team than beating PSU on the road even though the latter is Q2 and the former is Q1).
