So the game clock on the field that the coaches use to plan strategy and when to call timeouts. The game clock on the field the officials add time to and reset. THAT clock wasn’t the one used to determine that 1 second needed to be added to the game clock. So where exactly is the ‘real’ game clock kept and who’s responsible for it? 🤪

It makes sense to me. They are saying the field clocks and the decision makers clocks are synced but the tv networks clocks aren’t.

That happened to us on an Oweh play last year and once I saw the in arena clock, it was like yeah I was wrong.

If they are that inept that the clocks can’t be synced tv-to-stadium, then the tv clocks need to be one second behind and not vice versa. Or ya know, fix the freaking clocks
But its also the problem with officiating in every sport: common sense

If something is in question do you use the clock ten million people see or the one 3 ppl see?

Exactly what I was thinking of. But, once the game is over, nothing can be done to change the outcome. Those refs needed to be investigated for gambling on games.

Its probably not even gambling. Its these sports leagues knowing what makes money and what doesnt. Back then, Florida was still riding on the wave of the Tebow years a bit, and Kentucky wasnt much of anything. Florida winning (at the time) was absolutely better for the SEC to potentially get an additional or better bowl game. UK winning wasnt going to do a whole lot (again, at the time in their eyes).

And the same even more so for Michigan. They lose that game and a lot of money gets flushed down the toilet. A big name football brand's season would be basically over before it started. The b10 then potentially has one less team in the college playoff and that could be as much as 3 games missed. Huge money at stake if michigan losses this weekend.. were talking maybe, millions? 10s of millions?

Michigan needed the phantom second to win. That alone tells us they will not be a contender this year. 13 points! Once OU slaps them around and officially gives them an L, forget about it. They have a hard schedule and will take multiple losses.

the in-stadium clock was at 0:01 when the ball touched the player, there are multiple fan videos from inside the stadium that show it. which means NBC was de-synched. now some people have said the review is supposed to use the TV clock in that situation, but I dont know if thats true.

What about the CBS pics that show the ball in the air when the in-stadium clock was .00? Lots and lots of drama and contradictory info right now.

That's still two different video feeds, the main feed showing the play and a feed of the clock superimposed over that. What I'm talking about is cell phone video from inside the stadium where you can see the play and the scoreboard clock in one shot.

Underwood better step up his game or he won't be the starting QB any longer. Backup QB Tommy Carr is already taking some first team reps in practice.

Lost in the shuffle and kerfluffle .... Michigan paid western michigan 1.5 million bucks to come play the game at the big house.

Interesting how the secret clock gave them one last chance to pull off the win.

1.5 million bucks. they were never going to be allowed to leave the stadium under any circumstances that would give them a W. The fix was literally in. Proof positive. for all time.

Are you talking about those grainy 240p videos with major compression artifacts taken from a mile away?

there are several videos, here is probably the best one:

there are other more "grainy" videos, because twitter re-encodes video when its uploaded. but even in those, you can see the clock is at 0:01 when contact is made.

How bad are the refs gonna screw OU in tomorrow's game? Gonna be working overtime to help Michigan stay n it and maybe win.
