Michigan might have started playing "not to lose" about two quarters early.

We've been adept at just giving away offensive possession after offensive possession for years, and that's what happened in the second quarter.

Why Saban left. It's a level playing field now that every team can buy talent.
Wait a minute.. Don't say that ****! Saban develops kids and gets them ready for the NFL. He didn't buy anyone, his development is why kids came to Bama. High Tide! High Tide!

Nebraska's Paul Rogers kicked four first-quarter field goals in the 1969 Sun Bowl versus Georgia. Jeff Kinney also scored a TD as the Huskers led 18-0 after one quarter.

Nebraska recovered two fumbles and intercepted six Georgia passes in a 45-6 Nebraska victory, the first of six straight bowl victories for Nebraska.

This feels like that. And yes, I remember that.
Everybody, at least in Nebraska, knew that game was going to be a mismatch. Was that bowl the result of Bama ducking us somehow? I seem to remember some shenanigans over bowl invites between Bear Bryant & Devaney in those days.

Believe Devaney mentioned that Bryant wanted him to go to the Liberty bowl.

Michigan getting a ridiculous gift from the officials. Who could have ever seen that coming?

Michigan is herkyball’n the **** out of bama right now. All defense and special teams, zero offense.

Edit: then Michigan throws a pick right after I hit post… Orgi sucks, he can’t protect the ball well enough to play herkyball.

Sherrone Moore will be exposed as a mediocre coach once the Harbaugh recruits are cycled out

Michigan's QB's couldn't make a proper read on the option if their lives depended on it.

They’re both terrible, but Warren can at least complete a forward pass if you can protect him. Orgi… he’s terrible. If you protect him he’ll still make the wrong read and/or throw an inaccurate duck. If he runs he’ll **** that up somehow too, fumble or fall down.

The SEC is def not as dominant as they once were.

However, these meaningless bowl games are hardly anything you judge a team’s entire season with.

I’m sure Alabama is as excited about the Reliaquest Bowl as they would be a playoff game.

And judging a depleted Missouri team who beat nobody because they squeak by Iowa???

We will have a good idea who the best conf is. I happen to think it’s the B1G this year. But I think the SEC heavy weights could make it a game with any one of them. OSU playing 100% should be the best team but unfortunately they rarely hit that potential

Bama might pull this one out yet, but Milroe has played like a first year freshman the entire game so far.

Michigan has a really great defense and it would have shown better this year if their offense wasn’t even worse than 2023 Nebraska

If UGA wins or play for the NC is the main barometer at this point. The defining edge goes to the team that wins the NC. If Notre Dame, ASU or Boise State wins it all then it becomes an interesting argument. (Personally don’t think Boise or ASU have snowball’s chance in hell, but that’s why we play’em)

PSU could lose. Texas sometimes looks lost on offense. ND looks like **** when they can’t play bully ball. I’ve seen Georgia look terrible. Nebraska almost beat OSU in CBus. Oregon is most consistent but certainly had close games.

So, because I didn’t watch ASU outside of the B12 championship, in which they looked good. They’re the best team to my eyeballs

Yeah, I don’t buy that

Great coaches get their team ready to play.

If you’re saying their culture is so soft that they’ll quit before the season is over, that is a direct judgment on the team as whole.

Getting 3 turnovers in the red zone to start the game and not winning would epic loss now for Meechigan.

Orji doesn't suck, he's constantly put in bad positions by UM's coaching staff.

Bama looking like what happens when your HOF coach retires. They’re not the same.
They also found that out when Bear Bryant retired but they found the next great coach after a few strikeouts. We are still looking after 25 years.

Orji was never given a real chance. Michigan's coaching staff has made a lot of bad decisions which is why they have the record they do coming off of a national title.

I said they’re better than IU. But they blew their shot against Oklahoma. I thought Ole Miss deserved to be in. I’m also not stupid enough to base their entire season on a bowl game nobody cares about except people who root against entire conferences

You think Alabama should be as motivated for this game, with transfers, as they would a playoff game?

I mean, I get what you’re saying but reality differs. They’re playing an unrsnked gsme.

Remember when Nebraska opened the year beating the **** out of Washington, got shafted and went to a meaningless bowl and got dominated by the same team they beat by 50? I think it was 2010

No matter how this game turns out I was shocked that Alabama was something like 17 point favorites. Wish I bet because I would have laid some money on Michigan to cover lol.
