You said that like he scored 55 on Jordan, Jerry Stackhouse was guarding him.

I'm not about to say MJ is the best at anything in his 50's but in his day no one came close to him. He is the GOAT.
He is ? Why didn't Jesus Jordan guard Kobe, instead of Stackhouse? My guess is he did, and had about the same success. No one comes close to Jordan is just naive.

Jordan is better in most statistical categories than Kobe and in the few that Kobe lead in it is usually by no more than a few tenths of a point. Prime Jordan vs prime Kobe is not even a contest. I was a fan of both players and watched the entirety of their careers to bring up a 40 year old Jordan to have an argument actually makes yours argument weaker. Kobe was the second best player of his era right behind Lebron.

If you want to compare old Jordan and young Kobe then look at all 8 games they played against each other. Jordan was with the Bulls for 4 games and Wizards for 4 games. The Lakers had Shaq and won 5 of those games.

Kobe averaged 22 points and Jordan averaged 24 points. So in your spirit I can say “Why on earth could old man Jordan average more than a young man Kobe in their 8 head to head matchups?” He was a lot older and slower than his prime surely Kobe would have been able to shut him down.

Read Phil Jackson’s book the dude never comes out and says it directly but you can tell which one he thought was better.

I watched the NBA transform from Bird and Magic to MJ to Kobe to LeBron. MJ was the best player in his era or any other I've watched. It's not really close either. I'm not sure that Jordan couldn't average 20 right now since you are no longer allowed to touch offensive players. One thing that people who didn't watch him really don't understand was his competitiveness. He at times simply willed his team to win.

There will have to be a player much greater than LeBron for there to be a discussion.

I never said Kobe was better. Some on this board act like a 56 year old Jordan could still play in the NBA. All I was saying was his *** got handed to him when he was 40 by Kobe one game. As big a fan boys of Jordan as their is on this board, you would think he played at Kentucky. I believe some would rather hear criticism of their mom than they would their Basketball Jesus. He is just a UNC ******* in my book.

Did James touch you? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

He wishes but I don't swing that way.

And you and morgousky know as well as I do that Lebron doesn't touch people because (probably) he's had it done to him so much..just ask him. I bet he still has nightmares about what the Warriors, Spurs, and Mavs did to him, guys ! Lol. :bomb::boom::joy:
