He says he doesn’t make false claims, that he’s got proof Zion was on the take and we will all see it.

This is excellent.

I believe you Michael Avenatti. All will be forgiven. Just deliver.
Yeah but, he said the same thing about Kavanaugh, Daniels, etc.. And we know now it was all lies. Hard to know where the BS stops and truth starts with this guy. I want to believe him...oh, how I want to. But, because of his record I just can't get there. Yet.
As you say morgousky, "just deliver".

His 5 Million$ Jet was just seized. The jet was named "Passport 420". I wonder if he was smoked up when he tried to shake Nike down? What a boob.

Maybe Jimmy will lend him his jet?

I believe him. I just don't know if he has the hard evidence to prove anything just yet. He claims he does but why not just release it all now and let the feds handle it. Nike shouldnt get off if they did the same exact things Addidas did.

After watching and listening to him he certainly seems credible if you don't know his history. Will be very interesting to see how this plays out. Just to see Zion's picture up there and them talking about Duke corruption was pretty awesome.

In fairness to Avenatti, we don't know what type of crap he became embroiled in, going to bed with the dems.

Politics aside, Let's say he's making this up. You'd have to be an idiot to try this for a THIRD time. But he's not an "idiot". Scum? Maybe. Morally bankrupt? For sure. I don't think he would blow the horn unless he had concrete evidence. He knows he can't botch this up.

My question: How did he get this information?

That's my question too. It's one thing to get the low down from AAU coaches as to what was going on with Nike, but to have actual hard evidence (as he claims) seems a bit improbable. He would have had to have gotten help from someone on the inside at Nike if he has all the evidence he claims to have. I hope like hell he is telling the truth, but I'm not getting my hopes up. It's probably going to end up being a lot of talk (that could be true) but with nothing to back it up.

He needs to put up or shut up. Milking this for weeks of media attention by trickling out info isn't helping his credibility.

Yea but check this out.

He has plastered Duke and Zion all over the news during the biggest scandal in the history of college basketball. It’s not Cals face they’re showing. UK hasn’t been a part of this at all.

Let it trickle. If it amounts to nothing it ruined the image of that Duke team ESPN tried to hype. It’s tainted. Coach K would love a quick resolution.

Not much different than politics. The drip causes damage regardless of the truth.

And we all know the real truth is Zion was paid to be at Duke.

"Three years later, Franklin, 51, is in a different spotlight, with federal prosecutors accusing Avenatti of extortion for threatening Nike with the release of information that Avenatti had pledged would damage the company’s stock-market value to the tune of a few billion dollars. Specifically, Avenatti had told Nike lawyers this month that a coach in Nike’s grass-roots basketball league had approached him with information that company employees had paid the families of three players, prosecutors said. Avenatti, prosecutors said, demanded that Nike pay millions to make the whole thing go away."

I liked this quote:
"In the final event of the Nike-sponsored league, Deandre Ayton, a towering Bahamian who was about to turn 18, helped the team reel off a huge winning streak before Cal Supreme fell to the eventual champions.

Again, the Kavanaugh accusations were far different, but Avenatti was correct about Stormy Daniels. So he's at least been credible about something significant in the past.

Lol. I mean, if you want to call that him being right go ahead. He’s a lawyer that made a settlement and then came forward afterwards. If he tells me his shoes are blue and they are fine.

He lied about everything that mattered or that was substantive enough to matter.

This, you’re correct, is different. He’s fighting for his life. If he has nothing this would be the dumbest smart man I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a lot.

My guess is that he’s heard stories from the AAU coach about how it all went down. As far as actual proof that would hold up in a court of law, he has none. He was hoping that by just throwing some info at Nike about things that maybe they really did then they would believe he actually had the goods and would pay him to shut up. But I also think that Nike was a lot smarter about how they conducted their underhanded business than Adidas was. They probably put them on the payroll for the consulting jobs as Avenatti has said but it’ll be impossible to prove that they didn’t really perform services for money paid. Hell I could pay Joe Blow a cool mil for asking him where the nearest restroom is. He consulted me. That’s kinda legit. I really think Nike had these folks on the payroll as opposed to just handing out bags of cash.

One of the best things to ever happen to Duke is this clown going after them. Saying he has zero credibility is an understatement.

I believe Duke is absolutely dirty but this guy is just not the right guy to go after them. Mark it down, he will make a jackass out of himself in this.

The most he can have on Duke is hearsay. Communications between AAU types who said Duke was paying Zion.

Probably has hard evidence on guys affiliated with his client but the rest is scuttlebutt.

Still good that he's dragging Duke thru the mud. May slow them down in the future.

Truth lies in the eyes of the beholder. Sometimes hard reality is disseminated through such individuals. It gives those who have qualms about the truth, an out.

If he has evidence, it will never be seen by the public. Duke will never be exposed
