2 decent teams on the field. 1 made changes and executed and 1 didnt. ridiculing miami and our qb doesnt make much sense. sometimes its about making plays. it kills me how we always put down someone that beats us as well as eat our own.

The defense gave us every opportunity in the first quarter, we didn't take advantage of that.

Howard has lots of heart just not the ability. Thank you Skylar for your service at WVU.

I told you guys that Miami's defense was elite. Now you know. You know what's even crazier, the entire front 7 returns, all the way down to the third string.

Miami does have a good defense and good athletes in that front 7. But don't go beating your chest too hard as some average defenses in Baylor, Texas, and KSU stymied the Mountaineers offense as well. The shallow middle was open all day for a team that could actually exploit it.

Miami has a very good defensive line.
Secondary not so good, we had WRs open all night.
Their qb is as bad as ours. We had two picks.
None of their running backs impressed me.
86 will play at the next level, plays hard.

Love Skyler to death and he is a true Mountaineer but I tend to agree with you here. He missed some wide open guys, granted not a ton, but some big impact plays. That last fourth down a good throw and we are likely down 10 with plenty of time left.

He is a solid QB but nowhere near the level of QB you need to compete in a BCS conference. He benefited from a down year in the Big !2.

Is this your Analysis after the game??? Wow, you have gone full TARD!
Our QB had a bad 1st quarter and then went 19/21 for 250+ yards, he will be gone by the 3rd round.
We have a DB that completely shut down Gibson and will be a top 3 round draft pick.
Mark Walton did not impress you??? Yes he only ran for 82 yards but lets be honest, our ****** O'line made no holes to run through. Walton is a beast and showed you that while running over several of your players and then knocking out Gibson on the kickoff return.
86 will play at the next level?? you think? he is only the best TE in the nation.

You just can't give proper credit. DH said it himself, twice, Miami's defense is the best WVU faced all year. Miami's DC knew WVU couldn't exploit the shallow middle because of his height and the pressure we were going to get on him. Great game plan by Manny Diaz and the players executed it to perfection.

What about my first sentence was not giving Miami credit? I said they are a good, athletic defense, but not the 85 Bears or Steel Curtain. My point is that some very mediocre defenses accomplished roughly the same against WVU. When over 1/3 of the field does not need to be defended, its very helpful. I think Miami would have had more difficulty facing Louisville or Clemson, the two best offenses in your conference that Miami did not have to play.

No other team accomplished roughly the same against WVU. Miami held WVU to a season low in just about every single offensive category. Yes, KSU, the Big 12's best defensive team, held WVU to 17 points, but still gave up over 400 yards. Miami held WVU to 229 yards, which is 154 yards less than the next closest team. Go look at the actual numbers. Miami's defense shut down WVU like no other team.

FIFY

Skyler made Miami only play about 7 yards of the LOS. When the opposing QB sets up your defense like that, you are going to make everyone on defense look good.

They rotated deep on Gibson. Duh. I think everyone has done that since mid-season.

Diaz isn't making any ground on Buddy Ryan here. The way to beat WVU this season is simple. Make Howard throw the intermediate pass. He gets frustrated and throws it deep anyhow and wait for an easy INT. Rinse. Lather. Repeat.
