After the pinstripe bowl, he may never travel north of the Mason Dixon line again in his life

The kids from north Baltimore, which is pretty dam parallel to Lincoln Nebraska. But I guess MD took the south’s side in the civil war sooo they did fall under the Mason Dixon line. Though most people from MD consider it the north.

But I bet, being from Balt the kid finds himself in the North again. Just a guess

Umm... Maryland was a Union state. Given, it was one of the slave states that stayed in the Union, but it was a Union state none the less.

Technically you are right but it’s very subjective. MD never voted to secede the union because they couldn’t vote. The union didn’t allow them to vote. MD was south of the mason Dixon line. It’s really an interesting part of history for the war.

True on the vote part. Crazy to think how that would have changed things given the location of D.C..

Lincoln prevented the vote with a flood of federal troops. If Maryland has left the Union, DC would have no real lines of communication and the city would have been very vulnerable.

The red and white part of the Maryland flag was the unofficial flag of the pro Confederacy Maryland folk too. Its a cool looking flag but I am a little surprised the Pro Confederacy portion doesnt get a little more attention
