an injury is an injury no matter what position you play. kickers kick in practice which uses leg, hip and ab muscles, I can see why they are on IR.

I really thought we’d see more Miles Jones this year. Rhamir Johnson keeps getting talked about but not getting the touches.
Woodyard was in there for a little bit I saw but he and McQuitty have been riding the pine all year.

Jones, Johnson and Woodyard all came in for 1 play then back to the bench...that wont be good for morale

Alex Davis. He looks the part. A tall athletic dude along the line of a Randy Gregory. I was really hoping he would break out this year and have a Gregory type year.

The fact we’re not capable of getting a good lead has sort of ruined opportunities to use the 4 game RS rule to the fullest, and I absolutely think it can impact morale.
But hopefully it just makes the bench guys and freshmen even hungrier to earn their playing time.

EVEN IF a receiver can't block, somebody on that team can run a route and catch a ball. Hell, Austin dropped a ball playing TE and still made a decent sideline catch. Some of these ex high school players can still catch a ball. Two to four attempts can not hurt. "All that I am saying ---- is give them a chance."

You have a point I too don’t understand why they don’t try other receivers or put mo out at receiver. But on the other hand this offense can’t afford minus yards or no gains. We just don’t have the offensive line or other players to step up. Heck if jd can’t play on Saturday, wandale will have a giant bullseye on him.

Our refusal to go downfield more than 1-2 times per game has been baffling to me. They need to put in their speedsters (yes we have them) line up and go stretch the defense. NW snuffed us out repeatedly cus they felt no threat of us going deep.

I know a couple counter points are OL blocking and (mostly young) speedy WR’s ability to catch. But I would say pass blocking has often been adequate or AM is rolling out buying himself plenty of time. He’s also late with his throws which just needs to be coached up.
I’ve seen plenty of open WRs this year that are just not getting the ball from AM.
And most importantly, we are not even completing the short throws that when completed are usually stuffed anyways. So what do we lose by stretching vertical more? AM’s deep throws are probably more accurate than the short ones plus it gives the WR time to adjust.

Our special teams hasn’t been consistent so even a deep INT isn’t always much worse than a punt.

I can't believe he got outran three or four times by the NW quarterback....

When NWs third string qb runs right around you, you're not going to have a huge impact.

They probably aren't very good. We have had true freshman walk in and succeed in this offense the last two years. Mo, AM, and WR, are all-freshman team type of players. There is no reason these kids couldn't be on the field unless they just don't have it. Maybe Frost has favoritism for his guys and just wants Riley's to go away but there is plenty of opportunity. D1, power5 football, is really hard...is one step away from making millions. The guys that make it are geniuses at their craft, some of these guys just might not cut it.
