Thank god Jim Delaney is retiring. He is a great business man for sure and knows his numbers, reason for the additions of schools and BTN. But, he’s not dumb of course and as bad as the big east bias was towards the blue bloods in officiating, the big ten refs almost make you have to think that there are conference orders for the sake of seeding/prestige/money in that they try to help the more favorable outcomes happen. Hopefully when he leaves the next guy to step in has a change of heart, because man I don’t want to sound like conspiracy theorist but it’s very reasonable to say “hey, not saying go out of your way, but if you can help in anyway, it would really help us tonight if team X beats team Y” ..

When you find yourself officiating a game from your LazyBoy it’s time to turn to Forensic Files or Swamp People. The officials are human beings, not Instant Replay robots. Let the game breathe. All the breaks in the action to go to the replay monitor and give coaches free timeouts are hurting the game. Do any players ask out anymore because they are tired? How can they — it takes forever to complete a game.
