Anyone think that MG has been holding onto the ball a little too long at times?

For the most part, the OL has done a pretty good job of protecting him. But, there is a point that the ball needs to be coming out.

Or better yet, take off running and get us 3-5 yards and keep us on schedule.

He’s had multiple blown plays holding on to the ball too long. He’s also not seeing guys open down field. It’s a positive sign Iowa is now having guys get open, now they need to get the ball to them.

That " fumble " was an ill advised attempt to flip it to Mouton as he was under pressure. Should have been reviewed to see if his hand was going forward, they reviewed everything else the refs didn't call on the field...

I think it was reviewed, but it definitely was out before the attempted flip.

Yes, and the problem is compounded by not having receivers that can overcome a small window (save for exceptions, like the vanderzee catch)

Some of his “wildly inaccurate” throws have been thrown prior to the receiver completing their breaks. For example, he threw an out to Gill and Gill cut upfield against MSU. There were two throws early in either Oregon or USC, one where Gill ran an out and MG threw a hitch, another where Gronowski threw to the sideline at first down marker and Gill ran the route 3 yds deeper than the marker- both times the ball was out at or before the break, so who is a fault? In either case, there’s either miscommunication or lack of synergy, which could be why a lot of throws are late.

In an interview earlier this season, MG said all of the receivers run the routes a bit differently. If he's having to think about that during the game, that could explain (at least partially) why reads and throws are late.
