He didn't send him to us. We hired him. Don't blame the wrong person.

He gave a great interview according to the AD. Beware of people who interview well. Be sure to look more deeply into that person's actual credentials for the job at hand.

Ash was a great defensive coordinator for OSU. 2013 OSU defense was a sieve and Ash turned it around for the 2014 national championship team. I would love it if Ash was still OSU's defensive coordinator.

I believe it. He even coached for OSU after he was put on our payroll. He was coaching against us! by trying to make OSU look good in their bowl game.

Ash staying at OSU for that bowl game was the first warning sign. It was nothing but naive loyalty on his part - and that has translated into what we have today - a coach who is out of this league.

First warning was getting played by 2* recruit that no one wanted from Bergen Catholic and then again by 2* recruit that once again no one wanted from West Virginia. Getting blown out in each game last year was another warning.

best part of the night was the video tribute to Schiano. Hope Hobbs and Barchi watched it..and then said.."what a great hire we made and what money we saved with Ash! Empty stadium at half time...not even a sellout for OSU"" ..unreal.

Its amazing how soon we forget, Greg had his struggles here and several wanted him gone. It took him about ten year to build a winner plus he wasn't playing the quality of teams the are in the B1G. We lost to UConn, South Florida, VTech, BCU, Navy, and never beat WVU. So, if we had to play PSU, OSU, Michigan, WU, Iowa, MSU, we might have never gone to a bowl.

He sent the worst coach to Rutgers to keep that NJ pipe open to Ohio State. And Rutgers is so dumb they want to give Schiano a standing ovation for being a great Ohio State coach.

I lurked on the Ohio state board at the time of them losing both Herman and Ash, and several of the fans thought Ash was the bigger loss for them....

No, Rutgers is just really really dumb. Trying to save 1 or 2 million a year in salary, wasting years with bad hires, and then losing revenue with lower ticket sales.
