Already 17ing sick of him saying young guys. We're not a real young team. We're a little inexperienced, but that's what happens when you don't let young guys with talent make any mistakes. On offense, we are young at one guard spot and inexperienced at qb. On defense, we are young at CB. Redshirt sophomore and Jr. Is not young.
Deep south pout (with apologies to Megan). He was even more terse with Jim Ellis on the radio post-game interview.

Don't be an idiot Dan.. Williams can't throw it past 10 yards. You were too chicken **** to replace him with Fitzgerald. We should have never been in that position towards the end of game if you would've made the switch back when Williams lost momentum and USA figured him out. Good lord.. Stop making excuses.. We don't pay him $4+ million to do that. Sickening loss.
I think the only reason Dak got to play was because Tyler Russell graduated---if they had both come in at the same time Dan would have NEVER let Dak start or play the majority of a game. And we would have missed out on the greatest QB to ever wear Maroon and White.
I think that if Perkins and Josh Robinson had both been in at the same time that we would have just seen Perkins up the middle for 4 years and Josh would have only gotten 15% of the carries. And we would have missed out on JRob having our best rushing season since Vick Ballard graduated.
So I think 2 years from now we will be seeing the productive running of Dontavian Lee and Malik Dear---and we will be wondering why these guys weren't getting the majority of the playing time before---and then we will remember 2 years of 92 lbs. Hollaway up the middle & Shumpert stumbling and dropping passes.
Please Dan, learn how to identify your most gifted players---and then use those most gift players. Also Dan, grow some Nads in your play calling---seeing South Alabama's Offense play with no fear was inspiring. Wasn't it 2 or 3 Flea Flickers and another 3 or 4 Throwbacks to TEs and RBs---that is letting it all hang out and being fearless & brave.

I saw vanilla plays early on that got Damien started.. and after that I saw same old Damien.. did you watch the same game? There were multiple throws like WTF (esp downfield)?? Did you watch Fitzgerald last year? He has a great arm and can run.. I called Dak very early on over Tyler Russell (not so hard?).. get off the coaches d... i'm not hallucinating.. get out of your shell..

We are in for a long *** season.. I still cant understand what the hell Fitz problem is though he looked like a deer in headlights against South Alabama.. Very slow getting the ball out to the receivers on the few passes he threw.. But probably should've played a few more series in that game.

Not only the Damn Shorts , but i Just noticed Dan had on a 17ing hat?? WTF no visor yep ole Dan screwed the pooch on that game right there! Jeezuz what all around **** show that was.

" Yeah the loss is on me, I made bone headed decisions running Holloway up the gut repeatedly, I didn't use Aries like I should have and I Medle with the defense when I should just let my coordinator do his job and yes I know we need a real OLine coach but I can't fire my butt buddy even though he sucks at developing players. So yes I take full responsibility for this debacle".

I don't think he cares anymore. I think he knows he has done all he can, but evidently nobody else wants him, so he's burned out. He could've done some things to help him, like pick up recruiting, but it is what it is.
I am beginning to wonder if Dan can even be a long-term successful head coach. Dan has never recruited well for us, but truthfully, the one reason I always thought he was a good SEC head coach, was because I thought he made us into a consistent, winning football program.
Honestly, I think the rookie player starting his first ever NFL game in a week made us into a winning SEC program. I'm not sure Dan should get any credit beyond recruiting Dak. In fact, I am actually ready to go ahead and cut ties with him whenever it is best for our program. I'm thinking that Dak masked a lot of deficiencies for us (and for Dan) and made every single player around him better. Some players want to go out and bleed for their coach -- I think our guys wanted to do that for Dak -- not their coach. Sorry for the rant. Just really pissed off!
I supported Mullen in 2013 when we were 3-6, because we had a lot if injuries. I thought he had done a good job. And he did a good job finishing 6-6.
But something is obviously wrong when we lose to South Alabama in the first game of the season at home. I thought Mullen could turn one of our QBs into a half decent QB the way Mullen turned Chris Relf into a good QB. But it did not happen yesterday.
I also wonder about his relationship with Sirmon and the rest of the new defensive coaches. Sirmon is a good coach and the other defensive hires were good. But he is a west coast person. And I think his family is still living there. He is probably looking at State as a short term job. And Mullen's flirting with other jobs does not help.

Me too. Dan and the program have hit cruise control, and Dan doesn't have the energy to go any faster.
I'm starting to see the similarities between Nutt and Mullen. Mullen is starting to act just like Nutt did in 2009. Lazy. Letting the inmates run the prison(our arrests have jumped significantly). He has the sense about him that he is untouchable. Like he isn't accountable anymore for this **** show.
IT also pains me to say this but having Bear on the sidelines is exactly the type of influence I DO NOT WANT my players exposed to. Made stupid decisions. Left the team early. Been known to dabble in the stanky weed.
And what up with these tents on the sidelines. I know it's hot but our players already have vaginitis enough. That is something soft players have.
