Well, at least most everyone got the “wear black” memo. And they’re handing out t-shirts too. Will be a modest crowd tonight. Wonder what the excuse will be tonight. It’s 65 degrees a 7pm tip, return of a TU coaching legend and a pretty good rival. OU played OSU earlier today...Chili Bowl ended last week.
What’s the excuse now Tulsa?

Bad weather today, took too long of nap earlier, had to walk more than 25 ft to the door, TU didn’t give out free money...

It’ll be something like that.

Igbanu needs to develop a 10-12ft spot up jumper. No one respects that in his game.

We are playing some weird zone defense too. It’s almost as if Korita/Wheeler are a strong side LB and switch which side of the court they set up on depending on how Memphis sets up. I’ve seen Korita and Wheeler chasing a guard all the way to the opposite side of the zone and then they drop into a regular zone after that. At first I thought they were playing a box and 1 but it’s not that.

It is part of our matchup zone. They do that some when switching to man or just to confuse the opposing offense. Sometimes works and sometimes our defenders get confused.

Announcer said Joiner is Memphis’ best 3 point shooter - then Tulsa’s. I don’t know if either is true.

We should do a black out for every hard game. It is really hard to differentiate between seat backs and fans. It makes the crowd look much bigger than I suspect it actually is.

Memphis needs to be called for more fouls on their offensive end.

Taplin mad he got pulled after that 2nd foul.
Don't blame him
The 2nd foul was a tough one...I think it was the correct call, but it was tough. The 1st on Joiner was garbage. Not even in the play. Baseline ref was about to call a foul on the guy hacking Igbanu trying to grab the ball and deferred to the outside guy.

Wheeler is a hell of a defensive player but you don’t have to guard him outside of 10 feet on the offensive end.

Did not see us being up by 13 at half. But I love it!
Weird half. I never felt like we controlled things but Memphis’ offense was extremely stagnant. They don’t shoot from outside extremely well and they missed a ton of layups. And they’re really out of control on drives. They probably could have been called for 5-6 offensive fouls instead of the 2 they did get called for.

How Igbanu is OK. Didn’t really see what happened and couldn’t quite tell what the injury was.

The one negative when Henderson hits his first couple of 3s is he starts to take some rushes and early shots.

Memphis had a terrible half. Can’t expect that to continue. Jeffries and Wheeler helped this time.

Looks like our friends officiating are trying to let Mempiss back in the game.

Memphis is incredibly undisciplined. I’ve never seen a team that was so worried about what people in the crowd are saying to them... 3 different players have made some sort of acknowledgement of dudes yelling at them in the crowd...

This is why some Memphis folks don’t think Tubby will be there next year.
