Looks like they’ll be issuing a new Tornado Watch for Mississippi pretty soon.

Got a daughter in downtown Memphis so I'm monitoring the weather and watching CW 24. Wow those weather folks sound like they should be in Meridian instead of Memphis.

Is there a better on line live feed?

These folks sound asleep.

Memphis severe coverage leaves a lot to be desired

But I got spoiled after a couple years of living in OKC. Those guys and gals are pros with severe weather coverage. Trackers on the ground. Choppers in the air. True pros that make for great TV coverage.

If I watch local weather it’s either WREG or WMC. Just depends on who’s on there. Ron Childers and Jim Jaggers get on my nerves.

As long as she’s in downtown Memphis, I wouldn’t worry too much. Something about that river & the bluff, I believe. In 30+ years of living in Memphis, I only recall two tornadoes that touched down in Memphis proper or the immediate surrounding suburbs.

Was sitting in the Hoover Hampton Inn Thursday afternoon as the tornado rolled through town and started talking a woman from Collierville. She mentioned the same thing about the river/the bluff and Memphis/tornados. Had never thought about that...funny that that conversation had never come up and within 4 days I hear it twice.

If she’s on Facebook or Twitter, tell her to follow MemphisWeather.net Theyre really great at keeping up with everything for the Memphis metro. Several MSU grads help run it.
