Always an exciting weekend, between this and Kid's Day. It's like the real final countdown to the season.

Kirk still worried about the Special Teams, and rightfully so. Guess I was right, it was a special concern after all!

A couple of reports of some injuries sadly.

Lots of praise about Wetjen from Kirk once again! Tough day to be a retard who looks to criticize him at every turn.

Short synopsis
  1. Pieper and Winter will be working at both RG and C.
  2. The DL still isn't concrete, this is a little concerning.
  3. Terrence Smith enrolled at Iowa Western, could be entirely wrong, sounds like it might be a grade issue (I could be wrong), they are still in contact.
  4. Kueter is done with football
  5. Luther will likely be the returner
  6. Kirk is happy with the RB and TE spots, really gave props to Meyer

TE and RB are probably the deepest positions on the team...so makes sense.

Excellent analysis. Looks more like Winter is impressing the coaches, he will probably be the center vs. NIU.

Smith at Iowa Western, you made a good guess.

Kueter is not going to get a roster spot. He's a wrestler. and a good one.

Dadgummit are we deep at tight end. There are probably at least three future NFL players in that group.

Trying to not jump the gun on being concerned that we haven't solidified more positions. We're still not halfway through practices yet.

if this were a NFL team, we would be working a trade behind the scenes (some of our TEs and/or RBs for defensive linemen)

but, back to the real world.

Glad this isn't the NFL. I want to keep ALL of the Iowa tight ends.

Think of the heavy formation, one on each side and another as a tight wingback. The Iowa line blocks well as expected, a good running back (we have more than one) gets the ball and scores.

Or the defense is just ganging up on the line and a TE slips open in the end zone.

Does Chad have a clue? Always whining about something. Media questions in some of the interviews were weak.

Somebody asked Diaz if he follows all the hype about him. Then asked how many big plays he would have today. Kid was humble, trying to stay grounded.

Phil was asked something about taking it easy, couldn't quite hear the question. He said take it easy, what do you mean Seemed miffed.

Barnett was a great interview, very candid about the line. Reall sounds like right guard is u
p in the air. Sounds like Jones has left guard nailed down.

Didn't see any special teams player interviews. Would have been interesting to hear Olizak (sp?)

At no point did KF express worry about the special teams.

Haven't seen anyone on here criticizing Wetjen.

Go Hawks!

I really don’t think Chad knows much about football. He was campaigning for an OC who doesn’t even use tight ends in his offense, Derek John’s, over Lester at one point, which is absurd to implement an offense at Iowa who doesn’t use tight ends. When called out on that he was clueless.

Higher quality version with better audio.

Thanks Kirk for 28 years and counting, and proving me right again! Go Hawks!
