More Jalen Miller. I remember that guy here that said true freshmen guards can never defend in the Big 10.

Good stuff.

Hope Aaron isn't violating any media rules by -- HORRORS! -- divulging impressions of practice.

Not sure I’m liking the “no set point guard” mantra. That usually gets us into trouble.
There are lots of things with question marks about the team, but ball handling / PG play isn’t an issue. We have 3 veterans with PG experience on the roster along with a pure PG frosh. This isn’t a “PG / QB by committee because nobody really qualifies” situation. He’s saying we’ll be able to leverage multiple options based on match ups we’re trying to exploit through ball distribution.

I get what you're saying but Geo was eviscerated at times last year during our slump when he took up the 1 spot instead of playing in his native 2 spot.

Look - I love JY but PG skills were not his strength. All 3 of our returning guards are better choices to run a halfcourt offense set than he is. JY has incredible speed and is an amazing transition player. We will miss him greatly in transition. He’s also able to create his own shot. Lots of strengths . I’m not knocking on the kid. But we will not miss his ball handling, ball rotation, etc. our returning players, Geo included, are better at that and play more in control than him - all 3 of them.

Caleb McConnell had 12 starts at PG in 2019-20, went 7-5 vs the B1G with Mathis RHJ, Yeboah, Johnson. Geo has handled the PG in 2018 and the other 19 games(13-6) in 2019-20 and part of 2020-21. Mulcahy is running the show this year, but when he is on the bench we have 2 very capable guys to run the show, and a freshman true PG learning from all three and an all PG coaching staff. I'm not worried about the PG position in the least.

I'm excited for the potential this year.
Mulcahy 59 ganes(21 starts), Geo 117 games(100 starts), Caleb 82 games(29 starts), RHJ 89 games (77 starts), and Cliff 23 games(6 starts)
Off the Bench
Hyatt 53 games(17 starts SEC), Gonzales-Agee 51 games(31 starts MWC), Jaden Jones, Mawot Mag and Jalen Miller.
11-13 Reiber, Palmquist, and Nathan.

3 of 5 starters have played together for 3 seasons. Paul and Cliff were priority recruits in 2019 and 2020. Hyatt and Gonzales-Agee provide much needed experience off the bench. Gonzales-Agee, 6'8 245, sounds like he will be a guy that we needed desperately to compete with the frontcourts of OSU, MSU, and UM that we struggle to rebound against every year, and why a recruit like Woolfork, 6'7 250, is needed in 2022. Jaden Jones was our priority recruit in 2021. Pike has gone 4 for 4 in the priority recruiting, 2018-21 Mathis being the other. Mag and Miller will be important defensive guys and occasional offense. I like the way this team is structured and the versatility it has as a whole.
