EUGENE, Ore. -- Oregon and Oregon State became the first Power 5 schools to announce it will require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test for people over the age of 12 to attend its football games.

In its announcement Friday, Oregon said the decision was made with public health authorities and "peer institutions in the state." The negative test result must be from within three days of the event.

The mandate goes into effect Monday and comes at the end of a week when state officials warned of rapidly filling hospitals as daily reported cases reached record numbers.

Society should just wrap their minds around that this is coming for a broad range of activities.

Trying to not make it political- but Covid isn’t going away and lots of things are going to require vaccinations- travel, admission to schools or events, work places, etc etc. Just the facts of where we are headed…….

Then comes questions does vaccine have be within certain time frame AND include booster shot which is now being recommended for certain patient populations?

I'm vaccinated but if Clemson were ever to do this I'll be sitting in my cozy chair at home watching the game. Getting through the gate with 79,999 other people to prove this will be impossible

I know some other countries have apps on phone now rhat show vaccinated status.

At some point I would imagine that is where we are headed. And then once that is in place, then I think you will see even more of these situations arise ——-the need to show proof for entry

So when SC, Alabama, Mississippi, etc do it, will you call it socialist?
When you cash your social security each month, do you call yourself a socialist?
Social security is not socialism, that is prepayed money. That is money that was paid over time. Govt mandated 401k

That is forced taxation because the govt feels the population is too stupid to save any.

It is not a redistribution of wealth

The government is involved in rules, collection, and distribution of funds. There is a minimum income for life.

That’s socialism. So is Medicare and public education.

It was implemented by a Democrat. Must be socialism, right?

You're trying way too hard. You're a good guy so don't beclown yourself like you are in the thread.

Whether or not it was socialist doesn't matter. What we do know is it's a failed program because it was poorly implemented. I'm always in favor of treating people like adults. The biggest thing that's come from social security is the largest theft of American's money in the history of our country. Come to think of it, the government stealing money that doesn't belong to them is a key ingredient in socialism. So maybe you're right.

Just flew to Canada and back this week for business. Had to prove vaccination status both ways. Honestly wasn’t that big of a deal. Just flashed my CDC card.

If they implement that then they should require a negative test from everybody regardless of vaccination status. The majority of cases right now are fully Vaxxed. The CDC is only tracking breakthrough cases if they wind up in the hospital they’re not tracking mild to moderate breakthrough cases. They quit tracking those a month or so ago. @Superica28 you should change your name to @Superspreader28.

Couldn't we just legislate that unvaccinated people have to wear some sort of symbol on their clothing and imprison those that don't comply?

Seems to me to be the next logical step.
If someone would’ve told you in 2019 that this type of stuff would happen they would’ve said you should be in a Mental Institution.

They’ll say you’re crazy now for showing them where this logic train ends.

About eight or nine months ago you were also a crazy conspiracy theorist if you said that the Wuhan virus may have started in a lab and was created by men.

So now cases are the key metric? Interesting. Seems like hospitalizations are the key metric right this minute and we know most of those are unvaccinated. I am shocked anyone on this board believes that you should test everyone regardless. That seems like the greatest overreach of all.

My point is they’re always changing the message and the goal post. I am shocked you can’t see this. They control the numbers and the American people deserve to know the percentage of all breakthrough cases not just the ones that wind up in the hospital. They are still giving out the number the overall number of new cases. It’s manipulation and they control the numbers and the message. In the beginning Main stream media was adamant that it would prevent you from getting Covid And spreading Covid. Now they’ve changed it to if you get it it will keep you from being hospitalized. We are usually around 6 to 8 weeks behind the UK and Israel. You’re going to see all those numbers go up here in the west as far as percentages in hospitalizations. Most everybody I know that has Covid right now (and it is a ton of people) they are all fully Vaxxed.
