26: 7-8 wins
27: 7-8 wins
28: 8-9 wins

Who cares, Petrino is a scumbag. Would not want him at Rutgers.
BTW, Rich Rod 2.0 is bombing right now at WVU, FWIW.

Depends on who RU beat, but doubtful- that's crazy, provocative talk.
you can't really believe this

Fickel is 2 -0 vs Greg is. In the B1G including a 42-7: *** kicking at our place last year.

I wouldn't call Temple and Ohio cupcakes but I get the point otherwise.

They both have gone 8 - 10 last 2 years in conf..

I bet Wisky cans FC and will be on their 3rd coach before GS is close to gone.
Wouldn’t call Temple a Cupcake? Why do do you think we schedule them? They have gone 3-9 in each of the last 5 seasons. 15- 45 record. 7 wins and 28 losses in the mighty American Conference over that time.

You do realize this is what Fickell took over, don't you? Wisconsin was a blue blood, a major winner. Now they are bleeding because someone did not like something Paul Chryst was doing:

You do realize that another Big 10 school was 2-10 (2021), 4-8 (2022) and 3-9 (2023). Hired a good coach and went 11-2 (2024) and are 6-0 this year. Now that is a coach who is gettting done, all I said about LF and GS were that they wasn't getting it done

We were talking about Fickell, and now you are pivoting to someone else that we covered. We covered the reality of the situation with Rutgers. And we covered a lot more coaches who were hot commodities and failed than the couple who worked out.

Yep we were talking about coaches not getting it done. You mentioned the situation GS walked into, so that is why I pivoted to Indiana. The reality that it can be done, some coaches get it done and some don't, the original subject.

And the reality is we are sticking with Greg for at least 2 years, and gee, one coach is a unicorn, we are retracing the same coaches discussed in this thread an elsewhere. The large majority don't get it done and are mediocre or worse. But go ahead and keep staring across the other fields at the hot coach with barroom eyes for 2 more years.

We know RU can’t afford to fire Grifter Greg due to the undeserved, absurd raises and extensions, but that‘s a separate issue. It should also be obvious to
everyone that his woeful conference performance isnt near good enough to keep his job if RU did have the resources to can him.

Takeout the Greg 2.0 FCS Cupcake wins ( inc. Wagner} , the MAC wins, and the Temple wins { 3 wins including a nail bitter in '23} and his record since his return is 18-37. Not even in the realm of mediocrity.
Yup, it's bad

This year D may be worse in 35 yrs

We schedule them because they are certainly beatable and provide a road home game down 95.

Btw.. Cincinnati from the American coached by that guy LF made the CFP in 2021 and the American is considered a very strong contender to put another team in this year.
