I understand we are on break and the game is tomorrow, but there may not be 5 people at the bball game right now. It looks ridiculous. Hey, at least Malik's coming!!1***********

If the athletic dept wants people to come, they should make all tickets free and feed whoever comes for free. Why would anyone want to watch this? Down by 17 to mcneese st

Stricklin set our men's basketball program back decades with his sloppy firing of Stansbury and hiring of Ray. When I was at State, the Hump was full and rocking for almost every game. Now we don't draw flies. It's sad really.

Ray should not be here when the new year starts! Let him go, admit it was a bad hire, and start the search process the right way.

how have we gotten worse? i honestly cannot connect the mental dots to how a talentless, beat-up team with 5 or 6 scholarship players under rr in year one is somehow better than a talentless, more healthy, yet still beat-up team with double the scholarship players under rr in year 3.

what a port-a-jon fire.

Score? Too lazy to look it up. Plus I don't really give a **** about this team. And that's a sad comment from a loyal fan.

Students get free pizza if they go. They don't go.

I'm being dead serious. Free pizza. They still don't go.

I like how everybody blames Stricklin for the Ray hire and if it wasn't for him, we would have a great coach. Yall do realize that about 15 coaches told us no. Yall do realize that our bball program is a VERY undesirable job for numerous reasons and strick was reaching to the bottom of the barrel because nobody wanted the job. Yall do realize that he was forced to fire stans because of the alum unrest. It's not strick's fault, it's our moronic delusional fans that somehow thought we should be better than we were and we could easily attract a better coach. You have only yourselves to blame for this **** storm.

We were turned down by so many coaches we had to get the 2nd-3rd assistant at Clemson? Yeah, uhhh... I'm not buying that. Robert Kirby would've taken the job and we'd be better off with him

Well ...

Decades? Overstate things much?

Just looking at our history, who knows 'how long' it might take to 'recover ?' I started to come to MSU Basketball games in the mid '60's and in that ~50 year period, we have had ONLY ONE coach with a 'winning SEC record' longer than one year.

Joe Dan Gold 5 Years .364
Kermit Davis 7 Years .349
Ron Greene 1 Year .722
Jim Hatfield 3 Years .349
Bob Boyd 5 Years .322
Richard Williams 12 Years .441
Rick Stansbury 14 years .545
Rick Ray 2 Years .166

good AD MUST follow is ... you never ever fire a coach UNLESS you have a back-up plan to replace him.

15 coaches? I never knew. This isn't being combative- but could you name them- even 10 would be great. I would like to know who turned us down to see where they are instead.

We had multiple assistants on our own staff that would have been better choices who wanted the job.

Throw in there the widely accepted rumor that Scott had all but hired Payne until he got cold feet, we had choices. He chose wrong.

ok. Stricklin should have ignored the fanbase and kept Stansbury if you're correct. He didn't so he makes decisions based on what the fans think? not good. Stricklin is a marketing guy and that's good, but he ain't no ninja and never will be.
