This just popped up, but I dunno if it is based on something new or trying to generate clicks.

note: I threw up a little when I clicked the SC link.

This is nothing new.
saying she made a decision is obvious. Nowhere in there does it tip her hand.
Stop worrying....when it happens it happens.

I understand that every top level athlete :intends to be a key player right away. She may very well be. Just think she'd have a better shot to be a starter right out of the gate at Iowa given Hannah will be gone, and Staley has had lots of 5 stars on the bench who didn't play a lot the first couple of years. Cardosa didn't start right away, and neither did Fulwiley.....Same thing at UConn. Kia Stokes, (Gregs daughter) was a player Iowa really pushed hard to get, and she went to UConn, and sat on the bench for most of her career. Still she ended up in the WNBA, but she'd probably have had a bigger impact at Iowa then she did at Uconn.
I'd argue that because she went to UConn, she did not have the opportunity to fully blossom into a star player, thus now stuck playing reserve roles in the WNBA. Arrested development?

Well the fact that Iowa is most likely going to land Mckenna tells me that the Hawks have reached that spot. The CC effect is playing out in real time and it may well keep Iowa in the powerhouse status for years to come. Goes to show you what one generational player can do for a program
Having two 5* recruits in Iowa for the first time in history will be the beginning of a new era for the program. And two 5* recruits from California is surreal. Of course, it would be great to have Bjorn, Jenica, Trinity Jones, or Vienna Murray, but the top priority was McKenna Woliczko to replace Hannah. And we did it. I think our next priority is to land a 5* PG in the Portal or in the 2027 class. Then we'll be ready to be a Final Four Team again.

I was just going to ask, who is this guy. I thought we we would have a better chance at Lewis than Bjorn but I'm no insider. You def cannot argue if we get 2-top 15 players in a class, even if they are similar in skillset. Great problem to have and can always pick up a PG in the portal. Go Hawks!

Why would we need to pick up a point guard?

That's what big teams do. They look at their roster alln the time and it are always looking for the best options at each position. The roster never is complete. The recruitment never stop.

That is all cool and a good recovery by you...but does not make it a need.

It depends on your definition of need. Recruiting isn't about immediate need. All coaches are always thinking about the future and never get to the point where they think they don't need to add anybody more because they're always projecting the next roster.

Iowa has been recruiting Lewis for years. She is one of the top PGs in the nation. Are you serious? She starts Game1.
Lewis is more of a shooting guard than a point guard. Also, calling a player, who hasn’t committed, a starter from game one over a transfer who hasn’t even played a game at Iowa yet is less than a guess.

Iowa also recruited Emilee Skinner and Maddyn Greenway. And in the 2027 class, Iowa already recruiting Kaleena Smith and a few others. It's something they do all the time. What team with Final Four ambitions doesn't have or know it need a 5* PG? UConn, for example, has three 5* PG.
