Richards would play more than McDaniels. He has very good potential but his lack of strength and no go to move on top of effort will put him behind Richards and EJ day one. Cal won’t be having that “I’m going to float outside, play kind of hard and hustle some of the time”
I would love to see the Richards from last yr and the Bahamas. He has hands of stone. He needs to get better at catching the ball and shot selection. There have been plenty of times where he seems lost out there

Richards will be the low man on the totem pole and won’t see the if we get the bucknell kid as well as hopefully mcdaniels. I think we have zero chance with hurt. Mcdaniels would be awesome. Keep in mind though brooks will play the 3/4. I know everyone thinks herro is gone, I’m not so sure it’s a done deal yet. It will be interesting next yr if hagans comes back because quickly deserves to start but maxey has to get his also
Sestina, the Bucknell kid put up worse numbers than Nick Richards his freshman and sophomore years, then he improved. I'm not sure why people think Nick or any of our other returning players can't improve, players improve year to year everywhere else.

Wayne and Garth could make a better production than this ESPN train wreck. Totally annoying blathering.

Unwatchable.

Oh my.....Khalil Whitney can’t even hang on to the ball much less handle it. Long way to go for him. Ugh
I mean...its not like hes going to be asked to run the point or initiate any offense at all. Hes going to be a finisher not a playmaker for others

Yeah those hands make me constantly lose my voice yelling. I think they get better next season with even more confidence and summer work

Ky is a different animal you get recruited over, and it’s harder to improve here

Because most are suffering from this microwave society where if you aren’t great in year one or two then you will never be any good. Same people forgot about how much Jorts improved or how it takes most bigs longer than guards. Hell look at Bolden, he looked like he belonged in D2 games his first two years and now he is a legit starting high major center. If he can do it then Nick can, plus we saw in the Bahamas (I know not the best competition) that he has it in him to score on the block, defend and make plays

Anyone else see he huge difference in talent between the first and second unit on both teams? I know every year the higher ranked players start but usually the difference isn’t as big as it seems to be tonight. Maybe it should just me and I’m using recency bias
Probably a lot of it is poor organization. The West takes a bad shot and the east gets a break away dunk. The East doesn't appear to be any better against a set defense. The difference is they just aren't seeing set defenses much. They see a lot more 3 on 1's.

Richards will play as much EJ so there is nothing to worry there . Getting 2 forwards have zilch to do with he or Ej. Another position entirely . Oh I agree we ain't getting that dork Hurt. Also you are correct Brooks can play some 4 but I doubt he does a ton he will play the 4 as much as Johnson does this season . Hagans might come back but Herro is a top 20 pick and gonzo. Everyone around the programs says herro is gone so no reason to doubt them.

Are we going to see both Achiuwa and Cole Anthony at UNC? They could be a favorite for the title next year as well. They could, dare I say, be going for their 8th title this time next year.

Where the hell is whitney at
Just never got into the game really . I mean he has played a ton but I think he has literally touched the ball maybe 5 times. 2 times he turned it over , once he got a dunk and then other time he missed a tough runner . Eh it happens in these types of games. Doesn't matter either way if you follow recruiting you know how good this kid is . There is a reason he is considered a top 5-10 pick in next year's draft.

I mean, why even go there when they’d have to get through us this weekend?

Hope people don’t get discouraged about Whitney. He’s not really a big time scorer and works better as a high energy role player. He is still putting his game together as a SF, he’s a lot like Poythress but further along as a sf and shooter and plays hard on defense

Unless nick changes dramatically, ej will start next yr and should. He also should work on his fts and stop taking 3s he’s hit maybe 3 this yr in garbage time

He will be surrounded by plenty of talent. If he’s as good of a shooter as they say, he will be just fine. Most say he’s as good or better than Johnson

He is a good player no doubt but has a ways to go to be a top 10 pick

Nick and EJ will start next year. They may not start he whole year but they will start most likely no matter who UK gets. Cal likely gives them the chance to keep their spot as returning players and then go from there

Maxey was awesome tonight. You can’t really judge performances in these games because the dynamic is radically different than a normal game. But he was fun to watch. Actually played defense, has a beautiful stroke, and was unselfish.

Nick Richards will start at Center for us.
I still have hope, he will be All World, KP's finest work . Average a double double in pts n rbs, 3 blks per game and 3 assists

Bolden still isn’t very good. He’s a decent defender and that’s about it. He’s around 11 and 9 per 40 minutes. For a guy with his size and physical attributes as a junior and former high school all American that’s really underwhelming.

More talented but he doesn’t have The dog Keldon has so Id be shocked if he has the same impact. Having that dog can make a less talented player seem better. If you really break down Keldon you notice he never gets past players unless it’s straight line, doesn’t create into a pull up or set up players well...BUT he plays very hard and has that dog and teams know they can work with that and make him better at other things.

Many may not want to hear this but Montrez Harrell is like that as a big, can name many bigs more skilled but how many work as hard and have that dog like he has????

He’s a legit starting C and much better than he was last season. He’s had a much better total year than Nick as well. He may not score much but he does very well on defense especially when switching into guards and wings. There is no reason Nick won’t be able to do that and more next season. I don’t go by the “per 40” since no one plays 40 nor would they have the energy to do the same things all game every game for 40 min so that is skewed. I go by what they do with the minutes they get

Keldons problem is he settles to much and plays to the level of his competition. If he would drive to the basket every time he would get a ton of ft attempts. Even when he is clearly better than his defender he doesn’t push it and it frustrating as hell. He needs to play hard every game as there are times he seems not interested in the game

He settles because he doesn’t have he handles to constantly get past players. Think about how many times he has broken down a player and got to the rim without having a step on the opponent or a close out?? Knox was like that as well. But maybe he just hasn’t shown it like Knox since Knox got to the NBa and has shown it plenty of times. Likely got better at it while training for the NBA and Keldon will do the same imo

Players been wearing them for at least two decades, the issue was they weren’t allowed to wear them in real games until recently
They have worn the du rag things for decades not these..jay z made them popular again

Anthony sounds UNC bound to me.
He was unc bound months ago. Wake Forrest and Notre Dame? Lol give me a break his list is unc and unc only. Somehow Roy will get him to stay 3 years, and I have no idea how he does it

There were a few times this yr where he was driving to the basket and killing the other team doing it. I think he handles it fine, he just needs to continue doing it to get better

So headbands that tie in the back are a thing in basketball now?

You can thank Jrue Holiday for that. He started wearing a headband like that at the beginning of this season for the Pelicans. First time I’d ever seen it in a basketball game.

(Watching on a dealy just got to halftime a few thought.)

First, off their names are on the bottoms of their jerseys and the announcers don't announce, tough to know who is who with a bunch of new kids.

East is freakin loaded. I mean dam do they have 3 or 4 of the Top 5? Oscar looks solid and works hard I wish we would have got involved with him earlier. Maxey rough start, but love him and Whit. With us missing on some and unsure on others why aren't we involved in Precious and Wafford?

Next people who say we shouldn't even want Hurt are idiots. Read a story on him today a lot of family in Kentucky plus didn't realize his dad went to Murray St. Hard to tell what is going on is this slop fest, but I know he started 3 for 3.

Isn't Wendal Moore like in the 20s? I didn't think a guy like that would make it, I guess he would be right at the cutoff?

Part of me really wants McDaniels and Hurt, but after seeing that grad transfer kid I like the idea of that after what RT has brought to this young team this year. Also would like to get involved with some of these kids transferring with their coaches getting canned. It really is BS that a coach can leave or get fired and a kid has to sit out a year.
