Would have liked to see him get some more minutes to work through his slump. I am a fan of Paul and Montez but maybe he could have gotten a few of their minutes. He is a good rebounder and FT shooter. We need to be deep to play two intense games the first weekend of the tournament. Hopefully he gets some time in the B10 tournament and begins to find his groove and contribute.

Caleb has been in a funk for the better part of a month. Kid will be in the rotation, but during crunch time, you play your best guys. Paul and Caleb this year will see fewer minutes as a result.

McConnell has been a turnover machine the last month. Just got very sloppy with the ball. So Pike’s been playing Mulcahy instead, as he doesn’t turn the ball over.

But we’re gonna need all 9-10 players if we want to make a run here in the tournaments. With the way this team has been all year — with different guys stepping up each night — my money is on Caleb providing key contributions at some point.

Yes & Mulcahy is still a liability on D at times.

We have a deep bench. He is still getting floor time and is only a sophomore and will shine again. Dont know how many saw Maryland game graphic, they play six guys almost exclusively. Seventh guy gets only seven minutes. Highest ranked team in Big Ten.

In the few minutes he was in unfortunately he looked shaky with the ball and got beat badly defensively.

He was still very positive on the bench. He contributed as well some valuable minutes giving geo and young a rest. He is a great player and yes has had his sophomore slump but we can live with it as some other sophomores have shown some light especially Tez

McConnell will be fine, whether it's in the next couple of games or next season, but he's in a funk right now and didn't need to play to "work his way out of it" in the biggest game of the year.

He’ll be fine. He’s in a funk and things are working with the lineups.

He adds some muscle next year he will be a good plug for yeboah. His stroke and mid range when he started were incredible. Not an if not but a when

End of season, a very important game makes it a priority to win than to give someone minutes to work through something.

Montez and Jacob have surpassed Caleb and deserve extra minutes

Too much on the line now for Pike to worry about kids getting out of their funks.

McConnell has been a step slow and has lacked confidence the past month for some reason.

He’s shown he can play in this league and will rebound and be a key contributor going forward...but you have to play your best rotation going forward. He will shake out of it in due time.

Disagree. Wasn’t in long enough to make that kind of statement so have to say no.

I don’t disagree with him playing less right now. We are deep and others have had times where they weren’t getting minutes. Young and Mathis come to mind. I think Pike is playing the right guys and sitting guys when they need to sit. He’s not prefect either but he does have a staff and I think they’re doing a great job with this.

I was thinking this as well. He played great when Geo went down but now needs to find a different role. Maybe it starts on Thursday. Rooting for him.

Yes but the offense completely stalled when Mulcahy came in yesterday in the second half he came in at the 14 minute mark and we scored only 4 points in 7 1/2 minutes even though we won Pikell’s substitutions were not good yesterday. If he has no confidence in Caleb at this point than he should have brought Montez back in sooner. He even kept Mulcahy in and took out JY at one point just crazy.
