I think Stokes let them kniw ot was Kansas and this was their way of saying FU and moving on.
Man, we sure showed them!!!

Because they could have given him his own day regardless of what happened. If it doesn’t bother McBride why should it bother us?
Man I really don't. Momcilovic is coming back to college, who has a better situation for him than us? We have solid starters at every position..including SF, though Momcilovic would be the star we need. We should easily have the best offer...what team out there will still have the money we can give him? If we strike out on Momcilovic and dont land another big time player, then yeah, even if this team stays healthy, its ceiling is likely what we were last season. Land a star and it goes way upHe’s going to whiff on him too. You know it deep down. If we even get him to consider us. Probably will to up his value. That is the only reason we keep making these lists.
I guess Ndiaye is the backup and McBride the starter…
Weaponized incompetenceNo way McBride would have wanted his announcement thrown to the wayside with Stokes going to KU within an HOUR of each other. McBride likely could have announced days ago and had his own moment.
Just an absolute blunder by Pope and company.
Ironic post is ironic.Your stupid
Lol, keep trying. If I make a negative post you can rest assure it’s deserving. I’m like 99 percent of the UK fans we’re tired of losing!
If you're not already on Pope's staff, I bet he could find a position for someone as astute as you.I don't think McBride would have chosen UK if Stokes had chosen UK so I really don't get the point.
I wouldn’t want to be Kansas right about now! Not after that one. We showed them.Man, we sure showed them!!!
I'm a regular poster here who made it clear that I would have fired Pope during the season and I havn't changed my mind so the insinuation of your post just makes you look clueless. If you're not already on Pope's staff, I bet he could find a position for someone as astute as you.
Dumb choice on decision timing. No one will be talking about this in a half hour one way or the other.
His shooting numbers reallllly concern me from his first two years playing college ball. The whole sell with him is his size and shooting…if the shooting doesn’t carry over from last year this is a really weak pickup
We have had the best offer for every player we have went after. We had a better offer for Stokes by a large amount.Man I really don't. Screwed in what way? Did he rip him off, screw his girlfriend, slapped his mother, put a banana in his tailpipe?People are gonna say mountains outta molehills but that’s bullsh it. You’re right.
Pope really screwed this kid —he’s so over his head on how to do this.
I don't think UK would have chosen McBride if stokes had chosen UK.I don't think McBride would have chosen UK if Stokes had chosen UK so I really don't get the point.
Mc Bride made the announcement on social media . He was shopping himself around & finally came to his senses.I don't think McBride would have chosen UK if Stokes had chosen UK so I really don't get the point.
I don’t get the fake outrage either. Who put a gun to McBride’s head and forced him to announce today that he was coming to Kentucky?I don't think McBride would have chosen UK if Stokes had chosen UK so I really don't get the point.
Why in the would he face "a beating" from the fan base?I agree. Wait a couple days to announce this. The kid would take an uncalled for beating from the fan base anyway but at least the optics might look better.
Exactly what happened - McBride had an offer on the table since his visit - He knew Ky were going to start shoppIng again & the clock was ticking.Maybe that is when McBride wanted to announce it. Ever think of it that way?
I thought you were on the Pope side?Yeap, it was clear to anyone reading the tea leaves that Pope and staff tried to soften the blow of what they knew was coming. Get this guy out of here!
So...maybe he just wanted to go to Kansas He is from here. I am quite sure he knows this place hasn't been Camelot in a long long time. And Pope? I said the dude should be fired the day the season ended, but guess what? As was the case when he was hired against my wishes, no one in charge gave a **** about what I thought. And they don't now. Would he rather play for Self than Pope? Wouldn't you? But for about the last 7-8 years, they have been better than us, and that includes when Cal was here. For an 18 year old kid, thats likely the entire time he has watched basketball. But if "We are Kentucky", we shouldn't raise a white flag when an 18 year old goes to Kansas...we should go sign someone else and then kick their *** when we play them this fallWe have had the best offer for every player we have went after. We had a better offer for Stokes by a large amount.
Fixed for accuracy. They’re out of touch with BBN Which they couldn’t care less about.
Yore*Your stupid
That’s hilarious.Take solace in the fact that today hopefully seals his fate.View attachment 1274994
Agreed, #CopewithPope!I like our team.
These guys shouldn't lose any more than 15 games next year.
That lineup is going to finish somewhere between 6 to 10 in the SEC.McBride is going to start over the African kid I would expect.
Moreno
McBride
Williams
Wilkins
Diallo
Plenty of shooting. Plenty of experienced players. Bench is kinda rough. Interior defense is kinda rough.
If the African player greatly overperforms it would be a mega improvement.
There’s a lot of good teams going into next season. 6-10th place in the SEC might be a little too optimistic. That lineup is going to finish somewhere between 6 to 10 in the SEC.
That's not a good lineup.
At all.
To my view, Moreno might be the weakest starter.McBride is going to start over the African kid I would expect.
