Sure, not saying Lynch doesn't do any development. But its pretty disingenuous to claim he is taking "zero stars as freshmen" and his development is what is turning them into 4 stars as if these 4 star kids weren't incredibly talented as freshmen.
Coaching really matters—average athletic ability can turn into something special with a strong offseason program and the right development. Lynch has proven that. He went deep into the playoffs without high-profile players, which says a lot about his system and how he develops talent. He’s on another level—August can’t come soon enough.

MC is on another level OVERALL with tradition and legacy playing no small parts. I saw them first as a teenage spectator some 60 years ago, then off and on again ever since. Their successes have spanned many, many decades and adapted to the changes within each.

Coaching does matter. But NO coach is turning a kid with average athletic ability into a 4 star recruit.

Yeah you’re right—I’m simply saying when you take that average kid and add discipline, coaching, and understanding, it usually translates into something special regardless. He might not jump off the page athletically, but he’s making the right reads, in the right spot, and impacting the game consistently.

That’s the type of player coaches win Championships with.
