So what's the driving force for transfers from private to private? What makes a kid want to transfer from Montini to Franny? Or Marist to Rita?
Same question for public to public. Do we really think USC wouldn't have found Jonas if he stayed at Bolingbrook? There's more going on than meets the eye and just because it isn't talked about doesn't mean it isn't happening.
So many reasons....I'll give a few that I've been told and can see being legit reasons
1. Coaching or current schools game plan. Either the players, or many cases the parents, don't like the Coaching or the playbook and it doesn't fit to the players strength. Coaches aren't doing enough to help them get noticed.
2. They want to win. Some are with programs that don't have a lot of success and they want to play for a consistent powerhouse that is poised to have a big season. The more success the team has, the better they get noticed.
3. Exposure- current school doesn't play in a strong conference or play a strong schedule and they arent drawing enough attention. They want to go to a school that attracts media and social media attention which they think will lead to more offers.
4. Better supporting cast- I'm a good WR but if I played for a school with a high D1 QB I'd be a amazing WR...or I'm a good RB but wonder how good I would be if I ran behind a certain OL...or I'm a great LB but I'm forced to make every tackle because I have no help and it's beating the hell of me....you so forth and so on
5. They want to see how good they really are. I'm a good player in a smaller 4A or 5A but can I compete with the bigger schools against bigger talent and if I can will I get better offers.
6. My school doesn't give a crap about football and I want to go to a school that does.
7. BOOM and other off season 7 on 7 leagues. "Hey man, we are killing it out here, come to my school we could use you and keep this going all year and we will dominate"
8. Parents- No explanation needed
9. Your paying this for tuition, we will charge you this lesser amount
10. Final reason and it's very true and happens more then you think, especially underclassmen and that's "I don't like this school" teachers, academics, not fitting in, the commute, I miss my girlfriend who is at this school, in many Catholic schools they are told "You are all too strict". Sometimes it's really because they flat out just don't like the school.
