In my opinion, BR’s strength of schedule isn’t even close to MC’s. Now, I’m not saying MC is the better team. All I’m saying is they’re more battle tested and know how to face adversity at a level of play that BR simply doesn’t. Does BR come back down 28 in the start of the 2nd vs a nationally ranked team on ESPN? Maybe. Do they compete with ESL? They scheduled Woodlawn. Naz is never a joke, Marist is tougher than people think. I think it’ll be a good game but MC’s strength of schedule comes into play towards the end.

Funny between the two teams they have 5 D1 DBs, one ranked high nationally, and they have both been subjective to the pass....I really think in today's day and age with pass being the priority, if good teams pass the ball 40 times a game they are going to on a bad day complete 20 of them even on a good Defense in high school ball. I've seen MC secondary make amazing plays and some I didn't know how they let them get that wide open....maybe coaching mistakes, maybe teens being teens

BR has solid WRs...MC has Elite. They've had a couple bad drops but they've made more jaw dropping TD catches then drops, especially Thorton. They also started using the new TE Kennedy more and he's been a welcome addition. Sims would be WR 1 on a lot of teams

What a lot of people don’t account for when looking at a match up like this

every once in a while, a rivalry will exist when a team has it’s soul purpose is to beat one particular team

Teams of weeks prior will be ignored… just to study for this one game

Two BR brothers, sister BR cheerleader, 3 BR nephews, several BR cousins, I'm the black sheep. And I know or hope your kidding but BR treated my brothers and family very well, MC was just a better fit for me and former BR Football Coach Mitchell being an MC alum had zero problems with it.

@pjjp it used to be more intense, almost to the point of unnecessary heated disagreements especially when our kids were playing or attending the school and we were more personally vested in the team so we all agreed it's just football and pumped the brakes because it was getting silly at our ages to argue over it. Full disclosure one sibling in particular is not a huge fan of the current coach and him shying away from the neighborhood talent. He was perfectly fine being a good but not dominant team but giving more chances for the neighborhood kids to get more playing time and every so often have a great season. He's far from alone in his thinking. But on the flip side many alums wanted to win now and go get the elite level players and if they aren't from the neighborhood schools then so be it. I see both sides of the argument.

MC for the W... BR secondary is very suspect and MC is lethal at the WR position. BR dline will have to take over this game for them to have a shot.

Back 7 are definitely having some issues in the pass coverage, shockingly a few D1 talent and committed I believe. Safety is playing LB as well. Will be a tough matchup for sure, MC’s quick game beat Rice last year and think the same will happen this year. Will be there around 3pm to get a spot on the fence in case it’s anything like last year.

I think its going to come down to how McGee plays - and yes if the DBs can keep WRs in front of them instead of behind them. Rice other DE Elsea is a Soph with a couple of FBS offers and is adapting to the position. If Parks is playing along with Lofton then should be solid on the DL middle. Rice LBs are smaller but quick and Badke the Jr is a solid tackler. Again we'll need to have no turnovers and few penalties if we're going to pull it out but I think its going to be a good game. Watch for Rice to use Cartelano - the CF for baseball team committed to NIU - Strang and Cartelano are both just as fast ast any MC WR going long.

With all the talk about MC receivers, one player that I think has really made MC's offense roll is RB Nate Samuels.....I mean some of his runs....Wow! I don't know his stats but he's gotta be well over 600 yards in 5 games, maybe near 700. He's really been fun to watch and I hope he starts getting more attention.

Last year vs. BR his catches out of the backfield really helped open things up for MC down field. They can use his runs to stop help neutralize McGee and hopefully open things up again

Thought Badke was 2027? Very solid tackler and quick though.

He was the one who beat Rice last year in my opinion. I was very surprised he isn’t mentioned more.
