...against Stetson. People care. Guys just need to give us something positive to talk about. I missed them when I forgot to check them out in my own backyard in the scrimmage against Wake Forest. However, I have heard positive talk about the team thus far. Let's see how it goes.

I was at the game against Stetson last season and we looked awesome, so take tonight’s game with a grain of salt; Clemmons beat them by 15 or so last night.

There are PLENTY of us that still care, although we’re getting a bit long in the tooth now. Put something on the floor that works and you’ll see people coming out of the woodwork.

As mentioned, Stetson played ClemTech last night, so they probably won't have the freshest legs. So, not sure how much one can definitively take from the game tonight. We'll see.

That's crazy. When did college programs start playing back-to-backs?

Don't know, but that's what the schedule shows. I guess they got a nice payday to come play at ClemTech last night as part of the opening festivities and had the opportunity to make a short drive to get in another game while they were in the area. Makes logistical sense but obviously not ideal for recovery time. 🙁

I don’t usually engage much other than checking the scores until conference play starts. Unfortunately, we’ve shown ourselves to be a very bad team before conference play ever gets here the last two seasons.

Lamont is an all or nothing guy from the portal, so I hope he hit it right in the last cycle.

I think this team will pick up support as the season goes on. It’s hard to tell, but I’m pretty impressed with the product Paris has put on the floor all things considered. They’re not overly athletic with freakish small forwards or anything. They pass well, take good shots, and don’t turn the ball over. At least against Stetson, they’ve been able to hang out near the rim and push them around all night. We’ll see how they look when there’s future NBA players in the other jerseys.

I guess like people always say for the cream puff games in football, games like this don’t mean anything. Can’t tell anything about the team.

I was at the game. Enjoyed it. Team played hard. Lots of communication on the court between players. saw some good things- and some good habits.

This team needs to play together some. On to the next one. Nice win.

There is only three players returning from last season's team. This game was highly valuable for experimenting when Coach Parris has a certain lineup on the court. Of course South Carolina was expected to win and I am sure Coach Parris knows the players he can depend on but tonight was about experimenting about when you have certain players on the floor and what happens.

I am not attacking Meechie and glad he was at South Carolina but one major difference I see compared to last season is South Carolina had to depend on Meechie shooting from the moon to scores points however this season South Carolina has at least four players that are very confident in attacking the rim.

I liked what I saw against a Quad 4 school. Juan Fernandez looks like a pro against Stetson. This team has a lot of playing experience. This may not relate to talent but a good opening win. We were down 3 players tonight with Nasir Hines not expected back until the end of this semester.

No. It was meaningless.

Not bad; little sloppy with the scrubs at the end. Got some good mature players for a change.
Any idea how many they wound up playing? I didn’t see it but checked the boxscore on ESPN. Only saw 11 players from SC on there, Stetson had at least 15 that saw the floor. Three of SC’s 11 had minutes that indicate they will part of the regular rotation. So wondering if it was really scrubs at the end?

Fernandez was fun to watch. He was also directing traffic like a point guard. He will struggle against the very athletic big men (but most will) but he is smart enough to cause problems for anyone. You can tell he's very experienced. He also is the first guy I've seen at USC in a long time that gets the ball down low and doesn't immediately start trying to dribble or bring the ball down low. I loved seeing that. That's experience.

It was a fun game to watch- lots of players playing and lots or combinations.

Stetson had just played Clemson. I thought it was a good first game and we accomplished what we wanted to accomplish

My wife went with me and it's just fun being in the building and watching a game, hearing the band, etc.

There were probably about 7 guys rotationally, but after that, there was a noticeable drop off in productivity.

I mean I honestly think he will be productive in SEC play based on last night. He is a legitimate 6’11” Euro/NBA type player who can score in the post and pass. Not saying he has that type of ceiling, but that’s his archetype. The other forward doesn’t appear to be the scorer that Fernandez is but it’s good to see two formidable bigs, something Carolina has definitely lacked. The line ups with 6’7”, skinny slashers who can’t shoot didn’t work. The starting five was big. Something like 6’11”, 6’10”, 6’10”, 6’7”,6’2”.

No I don’t have any numbers, but the guys playing the last 7-8 minutes for us were not the same guys that played the first 3/4 of the game. Stetson I don’t know, don’t watch them that closely.
