Josh Baker is from Tempe AZ. Assume an offer from a solid program in the southwest would make us a long shot.

No it wouldn't have. He's a George mason level recruit. Tells you all you need to know.
Ah yes, nobody from the A10 has ever outplayed the talent level in that conference. By your logic, Obi Toppin, Nah’shon Hyland, Kellan Grady, Tre Mitchell, etc. — wouldn’t be good enough for Rutgers. The staff seemingly wanted him — but his relationship with Kim English clearly won out. Props to GMU on getting a kid that’s gonna tear up that league

Those are 4 players of how many? This kid is just not that good.

I could name many more lol, quit being dense. This kid would’ve been a nice piece, great size and has the game of a modern stretch 4. Over 4 years, I’m confident he would’ve turned into a legit player for Pike

There seems to be a common pattern where a recruit chooses another school and the fan response was the player wasn't good enough to play for Rutgers.

It is amazing that someone who knows so little, pretends he knows so much!
So you're pretending he's good because I don't think he is?

If he was good, he wouldn't be going to George mason. End of story.

Your logic is overly reductionist. I suppose Charles Bassey wasn’t any good because he went to WKU. Hell, I suppose Ray Rice wasn’t any good because at the time of his commitment Rutgers was a consistent Big East bottom feeder. I’m not trying to tout Mbaye as some future 1st round pick, but sheesh — your logic is certainly flawed if the only way to evaluate a prospect is to look at the school they commit to

And if we came here, you would be demanding a 4th star. Relationships mean a lot more in hoops - give GMU some credit for batting above their weight
No I wouldn't. I'd say we were recruiting at a subpar level since we would be his only real offer. I'm very happy we did not land him, though I don't expect us to do much better.
