The Illinois game on Wednesday night is going to be absolute MAYHEM with all of the momentum we have going in. The students are going to be packed in just like against OSU, and the crowd is going to be absolutely jacked to take on the mighty Illini.

This is starting to feel like the magical run we made in 1989. Not sure we can ever get as loud as March 9, 1989, but it’s going to come close on Wednesday.

I made that analogy a couple of games ago.

"Like Loyal said a few games ago, this bears great resemblance to the bactotherac season of 1989"

That is all. Please resume your thoughtful thread now.

Lol 😉.

Only bringing it up because folks rejected the thesis then, you are getting likes for it now. They must like you better...

Sadly not.
My 5 yo got her first shot this week. So we are looking at 2nd week in March before I can go to live events. Hopefully my sister can go.

I'll be watching first half in tv live with my little one. Steve half after she goes to sleep. She yells at the tv more than I do.

Lol.
Thanks for the question, Mike.

Thought this thread was about Raftery clocking Nantz for stealing his pretzel or something. Agree with everything in your post except calling the RAC the Mike. I'm ok with Jersey Mike's RAC, though, and I bet Jersey Mike's wouldn't care either way as long as the name starts with Jersey Mike's.

Agree.
If we do create an outer shell with amenities as at least one poster had elegantly proposed, then the RAC @ Jersey Mike's Arena might actually stick...

Jersey Mikes doesn’t care what fans call the place. They are smart enough to know that fans will always call it the RAC.
They only care what Rutgers calls it and more importantly what the media calls it on broadcasts b

Oh, believe me, I hate that Rutgers and the media have to call it "Jersey Mike's Arena." It's the freaking RAC and always will be.

I was just looking for a little clever alliteration, along the lines of Pandemonium in Piscataway.

Meant to respond, Loyal. Kudos if you said it a few games ago. I didn't get the "feeling" for 1989 until we beat Wisky on the road and our resurgence became more real, instead of just "Rutgers playing well at the RAC."

By the way, for those that don't remember, here's the miraculous run we made in 1989. We started the first half of the slate at 6-10, and then closed the regular season on a 9-2 tear -- finishing 15-12 before winning 3 straight in the A-10 tourney, so 12-2 to close the season before BJ Armstrong torched us in the NCAAs.

The team can't make shots if the fans don't take shots!

Schedule your pregame accordingly

Get rowdy! Be LOUD!

Sneak a vuvuzela in! Do what you gotta do to to make this an all time great fan performance!

Can we get word to the TV production crew to enhance the crowd noise on TV and not dull it?
