We hit much better this series although Sunday was oddly more difficult than I thought it would be. We have a deep lineup with one glaring exception at catcher. We just don't have an optimal choice there. We have an average defensive catcher that does not hit well and a primary backup that hits much better but is a clear liability defensively. I will give Milewski credit though for being able to put the ball in the outfield yesterday to score the winning run. One thing I don't get though is why Wyers hasn't been given any PT at shortstop. Woodson has not hit well for a while and is just average in the field. I think Drew should be given a few games to see what he can do. Also I don't see how we can keep Bevis out of the lineup after Sat and Sun. He torched the ball this weekend. Parker has a lot of upside but should probably be platooned against right handers at this point in his career.

We didnt' hit that much better. We scored 5 runs in the first game and 4 in the final game. That's not exactly tearing the cover off the ball.

We had about 10 less strikeouts than the past two series and had 10 or more hits in every game. We hit like .400 with RISP vs about .200 the last two weeks. We only scored 9 total runs vs UT at home. We scored 9 in just game 2 @ USC. All of the six losses were close so the margin between winning and losing is pretty thin. We won all three instead of losing so I stand by my statement that we hit much better.

Based on how immediately he was yanked after failing to run out that popup behind 1st in his only AB against TN I think it is reasonable to assume that Drew is in Oak's doghouse and we might not see him again for reasons other than performance.
I think he’s in the doghouse Yep. There’s probably some process he’s in to earn some playing time again.

A great step in the right direction and much needed. Just a few small steps and not a giant step yet. Lots of things to work on and improve upon.

Getting a sweep in the SEC is hard to do no matter who you are playing
Fact

Also, despite how putrid their results are, they do have quality wins against Clemson, Arkansas, and Texas. They were able to get a W against a team that swept MSU. Getting a sweep against them at their home field isn‘t something to sneeze at. It’s the first time for MSU to ever sweep them.
