way, Way, WAY to much money. Washington is paying their coach $3 million a year with great results so far. No reason at all to spend even $5 million let alone $15
I would double Leipolds salary to 4.5 million and make it incentive laden like crazy for him and his staff. Everyone assumes every coach is a money hungry *****. Not necessarily. That cannot be their #1 reason to want to coach. But, pay a man that has earned it. Do not cheap out

Yeah, Meyer doesn't have to pursue...it is the schools going after him.
We all know what Urban likes to pursue..... A golden entrance into the right destination. What does Florida and Ohio State have in common? Not too much of a difficulty recruiting if you have any skill whatsoever. Maybe Nebraska should hire Brian Hartline. Get all those five star receivers like Riley wanted.

What person in his right mind thinks for one minute that after yesterday’s game Meyer or Alberts would actually say, “yes, Nebraska and I have reached an agreement”. Joseph and this staff have eight games to go through this season, what incentive would that leave them with UM setting in the wings. We’ve seen it 1000 times, “no I’m not going anywhere” then they show up. Don’t know and don’t care, there are a dozen coaches with the experience to get this job done, just wait it out. The real question is when, do you think Trev could make an announcement? The next five weeks are critical for this staff, especially Joseph and Whipple! If they win and get bowl qualified, Alberts would have egg all over his face if he announces the name that half the state hates. Liepold, Calhoun, Stoops, Aranda all are gaining momentum and you know that when Whipple came in this possibility was discussed.

Or you pay $8-10 million to poach that same coach away from Washington. He's a better Leipold imo, with a higher floor and maybe ceiling too.

He rose up. Started as a grad assistant at Ohio State. Position coach at Cincy and Notre Dame. Head coach at Bowling Green. Elevated Utah to a major program. Win two titles at Florida while changing the SEC. Won another at Ohio State while changing the B1G. Yeah he earned it, but the guy almost passed out because he couldn't handle losing two games a year at Florida, and like four total games at Ohio State . You think he could handle the first year at Nebraska?

Oh, handle it? No...he would freak out.

He said that winning a championship is miserable because of the grind.
