WAY too early but The Big East won't be as good at the top as last season but stronger in the middle/bottom, in alphabetical order:

Top Tier
St. John's
UCONN
Villanova

Middle Tier
Creighton
DePaul
Marquette
Providence
Seton Hall
Xavier

Bottom Tier

I have little doubt that will be the case

UConn, SJU and Providence will be givens. Nova. Marquette and Creighton will be there too.

And if SHU gets the player reported on the Trove I would put us in the middle of the pack as well.
I haven't really been following any recruiting news outside of SHU. Is Providence's roster really THAT good that they're in the same tier as SJU and UConn, even with a first year coach?

I believe the answer is yes. They have a ton of NIL money available and because of that brought in many highly desired players. Sight unseen I believe they will easily be in the upper tier of the Big East, Which while not as top heavy as last season will be MUCH stronger top to bottom this coming year.

Providence's HC also seems like the real deal. He had good stints at both of his mid-majors stops, pretty quickly -- no flash in the pan season surrounded by more middling type results. And the guy is everywhere this offseason from a promotion, engagement, and recruiting perspective. Of course he will need to show he can win there, but he seems legit.

Uconn is going to be on a tier of its own IMO. They are just able to operate on a different level than everyone else. Blue-blood schedule and portal results. Saint Danny is cooking.

Just based on the transfer portal ratings by 247 sports. Base on the current state of the SHU roster. A couple of more impact players could change my thinking. Once again when the BE coaches poll comes out, I expect they will pick us last or close to it.

I disagree, I think they will give Sha the benefit of the doubt based on their way off picks of last year. We will be 6-9 imo

Just like the UConn women. SJU will push them but 2 loss maximum.

Perhaps. You know it has to drive the entire Uconn program and fanbase crazy that SJU/Pitino have won the BE regular season and tourney titles in back-to-back years. They can say it doesn't matter because NCAA success is how Uconn measures a season -- the latter of which is true no doubt. But it still matters to them. So I think they will be chomping at the bit and how quickly they assembled a great roster puts them in a position to do so.
