Love Maxey. Dude has some Fox in him. Great ambassador and leader.
Maxey is as OAD as any player Cal has signed. His entire approach is OAD.
Obviously you predict Maxey as one and done based on how college basketball is .
With that said plenty of folks on here said that EJ Montgomery and Ashton Hagans would be one and done before the season started last year .

We’ve had lots of one and dones go the 2nd year and lots of 2 yr players go one and done.
This happens every year, you all get on here and talk about how dominant a player is. But yet it takes em a year to adjust to college.
Also you all talk about how we’re going to run the table before the season ever starts. I’m sick of posters like you who act as if you’ve sit along side Cal and justice, watched every high school game these recruits have played based on YouTube and scout reporters who’ve been wrong the majority of the time.
Herro game was a little more advanced than Maxey at this same point, could easily see Maxey being a two year player..
The connection to a brother is definitely stronger than the one to another player from the same state. No harm in trying though.
If Maxey is a two year player, it probably means UK wasn't as successful as we'd hoped in 2020.
Last year, we knew PJ and Reid, along with Keldon would carry the team. Tyler surprised all of us.
KJ, Reid, and PJ were expected to be the top three players, and they delivered.
Next year, Maxey is expected to be our first or second leading scorer. We can't afford a so-so year from him given all the other question marks. We're going to need at least four guys to be consistently good.
I hope he's good enough to be OAD and that he shows it from day one, thus clearing the way for Green, Christopher, or Boston to make an early commitment.
He'd be worth it. He might end up being better than Fox when it's all said and done.
Team him up with Green and UK would be Final Four bound.
100%. Yes, we would love it if Maxey were a 2 year player. But I agree, if he is that probably means he underwhelmed and we didn’t have a great season.
I agree that is what I hope but I always hold back my expectations with most freshmen .
