This is untrue not all over 55 people feel that way.

Unfortunately this is in the legal system, and has been pointed out multiple times, paint ball guns fall under "guns", so there is little wiggle room.

My guess is he doesn't suit up again until the legal side has run its course.
I think his Court date is not until early November so nothing can happen ( unless settled out if court ?}
Really sucks because Melton and Rene would have made for a strong pair of CBs.
I’m pretty pissed at max for letting the program and the fans down, and I was with his family just the week before the incident. They were all happy and pumped . Ugh.

This . Very selfish act by Max. Hopefully a lesson learned and we never his name again in off field incidents.

The part of the fan base that lives in over 55 communities never want to see him again. The part of the fan base that actually still has a pulse realizes this is just stupid
Can’t call it stupid until you know all the facts.

Since both players are university students, I am sure there is a university process and procedure to deal with these type of incidents, would be interesting to know how the university's student conduct code would deal with a student in the same situation, would it be more lenient or more harsh. Not saying they wouldn't still end up in court but what would happen to a student prior to their court date are they still attending classes and living in university housing?
The University process does not wait for the criminal proceeding to be over. It's impossible to know how severely a student would be disciplined ; it depends on the circumstances. The University reserves the right to discipline off-campus behavior (which this seems to have been) if it believes the perpetrator poses a substantial risk of danger to those on campus.

Two guys from Oregon just shot a guy in the face with a paint ball gun earlier this year. They were back on the field after a 3 week suspension and their case is still tied up in the courts. So you're saying we should go with the 9 game suspension or entire season?
Its Rutgers. I shocked he hasn't been thrown off the team already.

That’s my point. He’s wrong to assume everybody over 55 feels one way, wrong to presume all those under 55 feel the other, and wrong to insult everyone in adult communities. Hence, every word of the sentence was wrong.
We should probably give him a pass for being so wrong all the time. All evidence (his body of “work” here on the forum) suggests that he is part of the under 8 year old community.

Ok. Do you want us to win Saturday ?
None of us know all the facts. I think at this point a 3 game suspension was appropriate with the caveat that RU reserves the right to reimpose discipline based on the facts and results of the legal case.

Of course. Do you think winning is the only important thing? Schiano wants to win as much as any coach -- but he also feels he has to do what's necessary to let his players know what is not acceptable. Schiano understands that his most important job is to prepare players for life after football.
Lol ok. Preparing his players for life after football is not the most important thing . He gets paid millions to coach football , not to prepare kids for afterwards . So winning football games is the most Important thing

Should be . Hopefully you aren’t an employee in the legal system.
Well, there are the implications of the legal system, but any violations of the code of conduct of student/athletes and/or any violations team rules do not have to be dependent on the results of the court.

I'm not concerned with the legal aspects. The NJ laws are nutty, but I'm convinced the final punishment will be reasonable. I'm more concerned with the fact that this was a selfish, mean, assh#l@ thing to do. What kind of a jackass shoots random people with a paintball gun? And a high profile football player on a team that relies on you? Super loser move.

GS doesn't want selfish jackasses on the team. I hope these guys learn the hard leson and grow from it, and when GS is convinced they have, they come back to the team and have great careers and lives.

Not sure what surprises me more, Max's actions that day, or some of the posts here.

It was not that long ago when fans were proud of Rutgers having a top APR, and for having leaders with integrity like Brian Leonard, and we were able to put football's importance in context compared to things like Eric LeGrand's post-football challenges.

Imagine if some jerkoff college kid accidentally shot your child or grandfather in the eye with a paintball, causing blindness the rest of their life along as well as the financial burden of major healthcare?

Except nobody got shot in the eye and was blinded causing life long financial burden.
