I've seen his name thrown around to replace NMP should Cohen make a move to replace her. It was also mentioned by some that health issues were the reason he resigned. According to this article, that wasn't the case.

It was interesting to see that he has a daughter who lives in Mississippi. Based on the article, it doesn't appear he has much interest in getting back into coaching.

Good article. I had hoped he might be an option when Vic left. He would have been a good one for sure. It doesn't sound like he has the desire to coach again anytime soon. Certainly doesn't have that fire in the belly.

“I would never say I wouldn’t be led back into coaching but I am just telling you from my absolute, gut-level, honest place, I do not think that is the direction my life is headed,” Mitchell says.

He married to a wealthy lady I believe and

He has done quite well himself. His ex wife lives in Madison, beautiful girl.

She played basketball at MRA (Think her name is Lacy). Matthew coached at Manchester Academy when he got started.

Interesting that part of his decision is thinking of the time he missed with Lacy and his ageing parents. If only there was a D1 job within 30 miles of his hometown....
