Is Matthew Hurt really that good? He sounds bone dry in his interviews. I really don't think anyone has any idea where he is going.

I know Hurt hasn't announced yet and I'm not talking about him in particular I guess everybody else loves K no matter what, doesn't anybody want to beat him rather than join him. If I'm a high school star I don't even like his looks, the are lots of schools with winning tradition and coaches with better personalities.

Coach K will bite him in a week or two and although it will hurt some, Matthew will become a vampire slave to his highness and then unconsciously commit to Duke with a complimentary coffin given to him for doing so.

I honestly think he’ll be better in his one year than McDaniels or Todd. Very polished offensively. But it looks like Duke at this point. And the difference isn’t that big. I’m still hopeful that Cal can land McDaniels this year and Todd for next.

Why does the timing indicate Duke?

Because all the buzz for the last few weeks has been Duke, so to see the announcement date set prior to any change in that narrative is suggestive.

I will say this, Coach Cal was Hurt’s most recent visitor (March 6). And PJ’s development as a stretch 4 has to be reassuring.

Yes he is really that good. He can score at all three levels, and he plays the game hard. But he is not superman. His arms are not very long for a player of his height, and he might have some trouble defensively in certain matchups.

Hurt would be a good fit for Duke's or North Carolina's systems. But in Cal's system, which stresses robust man to man defense, I like McDaniels better because McDaniels is the longer, quicker athlete.

It is said that Coach rat bites them on the penis to hide the marks from the public.

TIFWIW...rumor is Kansas has backed off. I'm assuming the dark cloud over them is the reason. May not be true but probably is.

Duke probably leads

I am fine with us getting him, but he isn't the guy I want to add to the frontcourt.

I'd probably rank them McDaniels, Todd, Dante, then Hurt when it comes to fit for our team.

McDaniels would be a superstar in Cal's system. Todd could be as well. Dante is a Cal style big man, defensive minded shot blocker who needs to improve on the offensive end.

We add McDaniels or Todd, they start at the 4, with Montgomery at the 5. Richards backs up the 5 with Brooks backing up the 4.

We add Dante, he probably splits time at the 5 with Richards, with Montgomery starting at the 4, and Brooks backing up the 4.

That's if Montgomery and Richards do the smart thing and return.
