You think Klieman has more energy and upside? You think he will recruit better talent? He hasn't shown that at KSU yet.
Definitely has more energy and upside. He’s 98-31 as a HC and Kstate only bad-ish year under him was 2020. He won 4 Nattys at the FCS level.
granted he’s never beat a 7-6 Penn State team sooo

He’s winning at the same clip as they were before him and has never won more than 8 games in a season at KSU. Ruhle had already turned both Temple and Baylor into 10 win teams by now. But sure he CK has “energy”.

I expected someone unhappy with the potential of hiring Ruhle to be on the Meyer or Kiffin bandwagon, not Klieman.

Not bitching. Watch a lot of NFL. More than college lately. He was awful there and had one good year at Baylor. Not a *****. Just facts

You can play the “not an NFL card” but your sample size for him in college doesn’t prove him to be a great college coach. It just doesn’t

Nicks and Urban sample size was much greater. Just facts. Sorry you hate facts
Might be the worst post I ever read here...that's saying something lol.

If Rhule's people reallt told Auburn that then Rhule needs to surround himself with better people. That is a deal breaker for me in terms of legitimacy... as in, I don't but it for a second.
Michael Scott is among Rhule’s people I think…

I agree 100% with this assessment. Smells like a guy to come in and beat Minnesota and Purdue and not a guy that will come in and compete with Michigan and tOSU.

I guess it’s better than were we been.

we are basically a middle aged divorced mom, settling for someone who doesn’t light our fire but someone who will be good to our kids
So the smart decision? Lol

Meh, don't think it's a great hire but could be worse I suppose. We should be able to do better. At least it's a better option than 3-9 Mickey.
He did really well with Baylor and Temple, so he knows how to be successful in the college game. His two years as an NFL coach also should add to his prowess as a coach. Getting him to come to NU would be a homerun.

Good one That might be all we can get for now. I believe we’ve contacted most of the popular names on this board but they’re either outright saying no or the contract demands are too ridiculous.
Lol contract demands too ridiculous, is that the narrative now? More to the point and more accurate, our AD is cheap and why we're not getting much interest. If you want to get a proven coach, you're going to have to pay up. Proven coaches have already put themselves in good standing at their current positions. They're not going to leave and take on a massive rebuilding project for the same pay. It's not a difficult concept to understand.

Time will tell headcard. As much as I bash heads with some, at the end of the day we just want whats best. My opinion and yours are both blind at this point. Time will tell. Let’s hope for the best… Cheers

But I’m earmarking your **** for a later date. LOL

that’s pretty stupid considering all he did was state the truth.

Rhule is incredibly underwhelming. His Baylor tenure is sandwiched by two far superior coaches
The simpletons on this board don’t like truth. They only like their own narrative because they can’t understand facts

Rhule lacks controversy and the boomer fans get their panties in a wad over anyone who may have uttered an unkind word

I’m not sure Kleiman wants to come to Nebraska. He can win 8-9 games per year including losses to Sunbelt teams and they’ll erect statues of him in Manhattan
I don't have any insight into Kleiman's thinking because I don't know the man. But typically coaches are motivated by proving they can meet a challenge where others failed (ego) to make their mark and drawn by a big monied contract. If that stint fails they have a big buyout clause to make themselves rich and Nebraska certainly has a track record of paying out plenty of buyout money in the past.

To be fair, beating Minnesota and Purdue is all Nebraska should be worried about right now. Not beating Michigan or Ohio State.

I'm not a Matt Rhule guy at all, but Michigan and Ohio State shouldn't even be mentioned right now while NU is losing to Georgia Southern and ****.

He took Temple from a 1-win team to a 10-win team, that finished ranked in the Top 25. Took Baylor from a 2-win team to an 11-win team that finished ranked 13th. He won a conference title at Temple for the first time in 47 years and beat Penn State for the first time in 61 years. But yes, he did lose to a Top 10 Oklahoma team by 3 twice and #5 Georgia by 12 in the Sugar Bowl, so he's a bum.
Spot on !

Hahaha facts!! He built Temple from the ground up! Call it what you want, can't deny what he did. They had more draft picks in his time their than any other time without him. He then built Baylor after the sex scandal and made them a winner. Dave is also won with Matt's guys, so that shows me what I need to know. I don't want him that much either, but I think he would be a good hire, and anybody who covers college football thinks he should be at the top of most lists, but I am sure you have different facts than they do!

Hahaha! Dave is riding Matt's coat tails, but good try. And I like Dave better.

Reads like an Iowa trophy case

His proud moment as a coach… Beating Navy for the AAC in front of 20k fans. How could he deal with the pressure? 😂

No real rebuttal shows you are delusional. He beat Penn State at Lincoln Financial Field in front of 65K but good try. And who do you want instead? Unproven Mickey? Inexperienced Lance? Average Chris? Coat tails Dave? I mean I want Lane or even Dave, but Matt is by far superior then any of these guys that have been linked to us.

Klieman is 3-1 v. OU though. And his last four QBs are in the NFL now, but he doesn't know or develop talent. LOL. You skers are too much sometimes.

You could always go the KSU board where you might hear what you want.

That's rich. Husker fans are to much but you are the obsessed one that lives on this board. Pretty sure other kitty fans would be embarrassed of you.

So seems like the race is down to either Matt or Mickey and most likely will hear b4 the end of the season very interesting.

Run the ball guy is not gonna be happy only 1 season in college football where he had a back hit 1000. He did have another year where 2 guys hit 900 though.

Didn’t call him a bum. Said he wasn’t a great coach. You called him a great coach. Winning season at Temple and at Baylor apparently makes one a great coach

Might also add, the pressure to win @ Temple & Baylor is low. The pressure to win in the NFL is high.

How’s he been under pressure? I’m sure he won’t be under a microscope in Lincoln right? LOL
Temple yes but Baylor NO. Those fans expect wins.
