I wish that we could have gotten Matt Rhule as our coach. Look what he did for Temple and Baylor in a few short years.

The guy that is 1-2 at Nebraska?? With only a win against a P5 school? That Matt Ruhle?
The same Rhule who abandoned his team after three years (with 8 years left on his contract no less) for the NFL? He has a very clear history of jumping ship for greener pastures. If he were able to turn around RU, he'd be gone in a heart beat for a higher profile job.
Yes. Schiano was always the correct choice for The Build - Part Deux. He correctly calls the program a developmental program and has developed a formidable defense and an improving offense in the toughest division in college football. I mean, might Alabama be no better than the fourth best team in the BIG10-East this year?
Nebraska coach Matt Rhule didn’t feel he disrespected Colorado heading into Saturday’s game and meant no disrespect by a pregame huddle on the Buffaloes logo at midfield, he said Monday.
“We do that at every stadium,” Rhule said. “We go there. We pray for blessings. When they came in, I asked them, I asked (Colorado quarterback) Shedeur (Sanders) if he wanted to pray with us. I pray over everything. I’m a public official, but I can have my own faith. I say pray; it’s not (secular). We take a moment as a team. I want that field to be safe for everybody.” - link
"disrespect"... now there's a negative check on Coach Prime's resume.. negative mind games where his son feels comfortable calling out an opposing Coach. First sign that what he says about "doing it right" may not be the whole picture. Well, I suppose running off 80+ players was the first sign. Can't believe the University of Colorado was okay with disrespecting all those "Buffs".I read the OP as sarcasm. C'mon now... you don't see the hypocrisy of it all? A coach and team praying for a healthy game at midfield is disrespecting "the Buff" but running off 80+ Buffs is.. what.. respect? It is mind games... and his kid buys into it. Can't wait to see how they handle losing.
I have vacillated between rooting for them and wondering what effect this will have on future coaching searches. I was happy to head how Coach Prime did it right.. teaching the right things.. the work ethic. But I think I see a crack with this whole "disrespect" story linked above.

Matt Rhule is a great coach with a record to prove it. Him being 1-2 this year is part of that pattern, too. He takes over reclamation projects, plays a lot of freshmen, and loses a lot of game in year one. The second season, they improve quite a bit, and by year three are ready to challenge for a conference championship. No reason he won't be able to get after that pattern again at Nebraska.
Who cares ? It’s pro sports and this is a shady shady business.
Hell, even at ash’s first press conference he basically said the same thing as sanders “we need better players.”

Yes he has proven to be a good college coach. I think people are just poking fun at the random, possibly alcohol-fueled, post. Rhule wasn't even available when GS was hired.
The whole concept of college football has then changed, and not for the better
Back when, transferring came with a cost of playing time, making for a more stable team and less chaos
A scholarship was a reward for a player, get your education for free, go to the University you love
Yes, yes, the football students deserved more than just a scholarship in today's world
But we didn't have to turn it into a semipro, throw out an underachieving player, sport

I would never criticize a college coach for taking an NFL head coach position. There are only 32 of them so you have to take the shot when its given.
Hope he and junior feel disrespected, and abused by Oregon. Loved Colorado, had nothing against Coach Prime A**hole until he started running his mouth like he was a top, top coach at this level the past 30 years- or wait, no he was wasn't. I think he is going to be taken behind the woodshed by Lincoln Riley at USC later on this year to make a point, and he should learn from that point. He's done a good job coaching, but the players left (he only had the "conversation" he says with perhaps a third of the 50+ per him, gee how swell, try coaching them up for a year maybe?) exodus looked bad, and the whole routine at times with his pals in cowboy outfits looks ridiculous. But hey, to each his own, it will net him recruits. Too bad he can't teach them to tackle, cause he never met a running back he wanted to tackle coming around the corner in his whole career, just int's please...

You can’t blame Prime for this . He’s been coaching in college a few years and power 5 for 9 months. He’s just exploiting it and showing college sports is a farce.
Schiano gets 5 to 6 years to turn his team around and everyone else has to do it in Game 1.
The proper way to handle an under achiever is to sit him down and tell him his chances of seeing the field, or BB court,.are small, and the player decides if he wants to stick around and give it his best try anyway.

No , he said something like jump in the portal. The team was 1-11 last year . He had to clean house. Seems like he has done a good job and already exceeded expectations for this season.

Charlotte coach came in this year too, just like Sanders, and brought in 70 new players, including 48 fourth-year transfers. Nobody says boo.

That's not true. Even when Terry Shea arrived and proclaimed that "the cupboard is bare" we saw people complaining about it... including me.
