I have for years been, it seems, one of the sole defenders of MB. I will say....contingent upon the ultimate hire....I feel totally vindicated in my belief that MB is and has been a better AD than Tom Jurich whom many of our fans seemed to have fallen for the hype.

Jurich was his own best PR agent and played the CJ and LHL for every ounce of praise. MB was treated like a little kid...sadly...by our own fans. MB has been and still is a whipping boy based on IGNORANCE.

So my support of MB goes back 20 years. Maybe now MB will get his due.
I never really defended Mitch on this board other than just a bit, but I've always felt he's a really good AD. And I haven't been one to be overly critical of him either.

The one big strike against him, though, was that contract he gave Cal. Without that, he'd be hard to beat as an AD for me.

Cal is leaving and we are not paying him a dime to go. I think it has turned out amazingly well. I personally said that MB should have done this a year ago....so that was 8mil wasted. But aside from that the contract worked.

Watched part of a video from an Arkansas fan account, and they didn't look or sound thrilled. Basically sounded like they were resigned to the fact that it was going to happen, but they know the criticisms and are just hoping the fresh start brings a change in his approach.

I'm not sold that MB orchestrated all this, but I can't rule it out. It could be as simple as Cal didn't realize he could become not wanted, along with his NBA first philosophy. He always thought he could have it both ways, and it blew up on him.

Yes - but what I'm saying is Cal should have been let go several years ago (and you said last year) and we couldn't make it happen due to the contract. I'm thrilled it happened now and Mitch looks like a wizard for pulling it off, but it's a few years late in my opinion.

This is a spectacularly uninformed take. Mitch is being 100% sure he’s not violating the contract in any way; because this is getting very ugly.
So what if something falls through with Arkansas and cal never becomes coach? Sorry don’t see any reason to wait and I would venture to guess behind the scenes it’s all taking place anyway.

I’m starting to think that Cal was just being dramatic by talking to Arkansas cause he knew everybody was pissed at him and was looking for some sympathy. He never actually intended for it to go this far and now he’s like “****, I messed up”, and is stuck with this Arkansas nonsense. Lol

Even at 50 I can still voluntarily admit it's quite unhealthy how high I get with news like this and how low I get with things like cows last 5 years here. Better than anything lmao
Hey, you're living brother! That is exactly what life is about regardless of age.

If I was Arkansas I would pull the offer on principle right now..

But we don't want that. We don't want this to drag out in court (breach of contract).
If you were an Arky fan would you want him now ? I understand what your saying and agree but I would understand other side to
