Devil's advocate: Jurich is in his 60s now, and I saw some pictures over the weekend of he and Pitino, and he can't be more than 5'10, and likely less. Jones is 6'4 if I recall right. Surely he can take a tiny old dude?

Matt Jones is best suited to fight behind a mike or keyboard. He is very good at that and should stick to what he knows........plus, Jurich probably has "people" to take care of MJ if needed...how do you think Jurich has been able to run the city of Louisville for the last 15 years.

Matt would obviously be the loser no matter what. Its not like Jurich would ever admit to anything negative like losing.......

I'll bite.

Jones is a snowflake. I'm sorry, it matters. If you're gonna be on his side ideologically, you have to accept that you're a puss.

Jurich is Ann alpha dog. He's a tycoon. And he's a ruthless SOB.

Having grappled in wrestling in high school some, typical teen fights through the years, football, and coaching I can say height has no bearing whatsoever in the common world street fight.

Jurich would fold him like a lawn chair and call him a ***** as he walked away.

Captain Suntan would do Jurich's bidding for him. Jones would remind CS that he's a lawyer and tell him about the legal implications of attacking him. CS would laugh and call him a *****. Jones would sue CS for calling him a *****.

Matt hates any violence, he would run.

Eh. Height doesn't mean much except as a proxy for reach and functional weight. If we're gonna break down some of the different fighting ability predictor variables in terms of importance, I'd loosely rank it something like this:

1. Training (push?)
2. Lean muscle mass weight (maybe a tiny edge to Jones?)
.......

3. Attitude/Motivation (Jurich by far)
4. Age (Jones)
.......

5. Overall weight (Jones)
6. Reach (Jones)

I guess I'd take Jones if he were forced to fight (otherwise he'd evade). But I don't see either having some massive advantage.

If we're basically talking egos here then jones wins hand down but physically I'd put my 11 yr grandson against either.

"Common world street fight"? LOL. Yeah, I bet you're an expert on "street fights". You make some weird posts, but this one is up there.

P.S. You're probably the biggest "snowflake" on this board.

I am 6'-5". Worst *** whooping I ever took was in a bar in Nashville. Guy started it. He was about a foot shorter than me. I even tried talking to him. Liquor is a bad thing. Don't ever think size has anything to do with who comes out on top. Little bastard beat the hell out of me. Good thing I was drunk.....I could have been hurt real bad.

To answer this question you need to define the implements of pain:

Fists, boots, teeth, blades, guns, pool cues, tire irons, or assorted clubs: Jurich
Catty remarks hurled from 1,000 paces: Jones

Found another snowflake.

I mean, you'd have to be one to actually take that post seriously and become irritated. [laughing]

I'm the HUCKLEBERRY here!! I got Jones's back. I'll fight for him!! He's BBN and I'm BBN. I'm not as good as I once was but I'm good ONCE! That's the 'ole UK linebacker in me! Enough said.
You are hitching your horse up to the wrong wagon. But Matt needs you because he sure can't fight his own fights. So go ahead and whip that Ole Mean Man Jurich. It is important.

I think during the Sypher trial and the rise of Calipari/Wall at UK...Jurich really threw his weight to combat Jones.

After that, Matt was a bit scared. But once Katina came out in public, Matt gained power. Board members and insiders slipped info to Matt about the power struggle..just to anger Jurich. Matt got the news they wanted Rick out and he spread it like wildfire and TJ did all he could to keep him for his own ego...his ego destroyed him.

You have to admit it is kinda funny. Half of the Big Blue Nation would like to see their most hated rival, Tom Jurich, whip Matt Jones butt. You can't make this stuff up.
