Everyone is pissed off and emotional right now and for good reason. But Jones is right about this one. That’s your top 5 right now. The problem is our fans have PTSD. I don’t know how that gets fixed realistically. Don’t say “fire Cal” because that’s not happening. But maybe therapy?

Seems fair to me. You have a KU team that hasn't won a title since 2008 so not sure why UK cannot rank 5th with a title in 2012 and 2 additional Final Fours (including 1 title game appearance) in the last decade.

Gonzaga making 2 Final fours and racking up wins against a middle school conference does not do it for me.

1) it is interesting how you picked precisely 7 years, not 5, not 10, but 7.
2) you are still wrong, as we were 5th in 2017. Also a close 7th in 2019, and 7th/8th in 2020.
It will be interesting to see how much we drop from 6th/7th in 2022 after 1 horrible loss

I picked 7 because it’s been 7 years, if it were 10, I would have picked 10. Very simple logic. I’ll have to go back and look at the final rankings for 2017, you may be right, but 1 #5 finish 5 years ago does not make us a top 5 program.

Historically, of course we are. Currently, not even close. There are absolutely no facts you can even try to spin to say otherwise.

All-time--we're top 3.

Perspective for a 16/17 year old kid that was 9/10 years old the last time UK was in a Final 4: We're probably not top 5.

Duke won it in 15. They were arguably already the "it" school, but Zion put that over the top. This is their 1st Final 4 since 15, but they're the favorites to win it all.
UNC: This will be their 3rd final 4 since our last one. They went to back to back NC games and won one.
Kansas: 2nd Final 4 since our last.
Villanova: Arguably the REAL Gold Standard. Final 4's in 2016/2018/2022. Two titles in that span.
Gonzaga has 2 Final 4's, is constantly #1 in the AP poll. We can debate a lot of things about Gonzaga--but they're clearly ahead of us over the past 7 years.


Baylor has a Title and they have spent a lot of time in the top 5.
Virginia has a title.

Michigan State, Texas Tech, Michigan, and Loyolla Chicago all have Final 4's since our last time.
