I'm not sure I would have phrased it like that but interesting if Sharpe did tell them that
Well he said his source “is outside the staff but really knows what’s going on”. Maybe his source is Kyle tucker idk but Matt’s putting it out there

Sharpe has told the staff he’s returning but they are hesitant to believe him. He has to declare by the 24th correct?
I heard that too ,problem is, UK is recruiting for his position like he's going but he's telling them he's staying.

Smoke and mirrors. The staff and Sharpe know he’s not coming back. I guess you can’t be certain if you don’t know, but that seems to be the sure bet.
I’ve felt the same but he only has a few days to declare now so idk why he wouldn’t just put his name in the draft at this point.

Hard to believe people actually buy that Calipari, who’s the go to authority on the entire OAD / NBA early entree college system today, is not aware of what a guy like Sharpe is going to do.

It’s hilarious to me. The same guy that rips up scholarships and says no way, go get the money? The same guy that has connections all over the NBA and knows what they’re thinking?

All of a sudden Calipari is clueless to this sort of thing and says “well gee I don’t know. He says he’s coming back to college. I guess he really might turn down a top 5-10 pick? And heck shoot I’m all for a player turning down top 10 picks!”

It’s ridiculous and an insult to logical thinking.

If he's told them since day one he was going to be playing next year, why would the staff at this point not believe him?
What advantage for Sharpe to royally screw and embarrass UK at this point.
Something about what Jones said just doesn't make sense.

1. When and where did MJ say this?
2. The other thread/tweet appear to have been based on misinformation.
3. Sharpe is 100% gone as he should be.

This board is like the telephone game. It's amazing how fast this disinformation has spread and how many people have been suckered already. The desperation for Sharpe to stay is HIGH. Acceptance is at an all time low.

Just a few days ago a 'source' from Sharpe's camp said "nothing has been decided."

If he comes back great, hell that’s what many of us have been screaming for the last 10 years. Work to get them back to Kentucky.

But I live by the idea that when someone shows me who they are, I believe them. Calipari has shown who he is. He’s a business marketer. Trying to actually talk Sharpe into returning goes against his networking Schtick.

I guess it’s possible that he realizes the gig is up. Quietly turn the tide and work toward actually being the UK coach, but again he’s shown us who he is. I don’t ever see that happening.

If Sharpe returns, there’s something else to this that none of us are aware of. My guess would he were likely not to see it again. A one off.

If he’s so dead set on returning why doesn’t he come out and tweet that he’s ready to play for UK next year? He obviously sees the Instagram comments, tiktok comments everyone saying they want him to play for us next year. Where is the announcement that he is staying? It would be very simple. There is a reason there hasn’t been a formal announcement. Him and his people probably want to get him off campus before slapping John Calipari and UK fans in the face.

A few minutes before I made the post he said it on his show. He was emphatic about the staff still being told sharpe returns. Go find the clip for yourself

Could also be working out nil deals to stay.

I have to say, you have a very levelheaded mindset on this one.

Thought Sharpe told the staff he's returning but KSR guys are hesitant to believe them? Everything since the middle of the year Staff has told my friend is that Sharpe/his people say he's going to play at Kentucky in '23 season. My friend has been skeptical of that, but they've been consistent about this message since he joined the program. Will be interesting to see how things play out. Sharpe hasn't skipped steps to this point in his development and that's a big condition for his camp or has been to this current day.

All I know is the flight leaves for the Bahamas in a few months and he needs to be on it for Cal to get a told u so on us. I mean he's not really got much to throw out considering our return home from the NCAA after only playing 2.5 hours. It's Oscar and Sharpe or Cal is up against the World next season. Go Cats!!

Why wouldn’t he announce he is entering the draft of it’s already decided?

You might be the most gullible person on the board - to actually believe what you just wrote is alarming in the sense that you actually have to operate on your own in life.

In your defense fandom makes people go pretty stupid sometimes so….maybe you’re more consistently accurate in other aspects.

I’m not trying to be an *******, and that’s probably the nicest way I could think to respond to this utter nonsense.

I agree...it is hard to fathom Cal had no clue about the entire Sharpe situation. I don't believe it for a moment.

But, what's the point of dragging this out? What does Sharpe gain by not announcing...if his intentions are 100pct to leave?

It makes sense to me that there is at least some indecision about what to do...and in Cal's mind as well.

I've never believed he was coming back, but I don't understand why they keep pushing this story that he is if it is not true. What is the benefit? Everyone thinks it is a done deal, but if so, why not just announce it? Very confused.
Problem solved...this isn't rocket science or even Colombo!

maybe Sharpe wants to and intends to return but will declare for the draft, go through NBA workouts and interviews just to see how high he might go. his stock is already high though top 6 or 7 pick my most.

You and that dopey Lowcountryboil should be permabanned the second it becomes fact that Sharpe is staying. You wish nothing but trouble on the team and your every utterance reeks like a drunks farts.

Personally I think it’s possible that Calipari sees the writing on the wall and needs him back. This is the most logical scenario, and would lend at least some sense to this situation. But even then I would still say this is a lesson learned in behavioral psychology by denialism.
I lean on the idea that they all know what’s going on.
