Well none of this news sounds very promising.Bolden would be a big loss.Allen is most likely going to Texas and who knows the eligibility problems of the Turkish guy.Lee could transfer and we would half to depend in Hump/Wynyard for scoring.

For those asking about Lee, this is just my opinion, but I think he might be exploring the grad transfer option because he thinks he will shine more as a big fish in a smaller pond. But yeah, he's very unlikely to get drafted and MJ didn't offer any insight as to why he is so set on moving on.

I don't think Calipari wants to go into next year with frontcourt questions like this past year, so I'm thinking if the scenario above happens, he will find another decent front court player. There are always options that pop up in the spring.

Lee looking to leave....interesting! If we lose Lee and don't get Bolden, we are gonna be mighty thin up front!

Y'all are stupid if you think Bolden's gonna let momma make his choice. He's coming to UK and that's all they are to it.

Lee might not want to compete with Killeya-Jones for minutes. They fill the same role and SKJ is more skilled than Lee. He might be seeing the writing on the wall.

Or maybe he just wants to get paid.

I wish him the best, regardless.

Skal leaving and missing on Bolden would be a big blow.

Especially if he goes to Duke. Double whammy.

Lee leaving? Where does he think he is going?

So...if Lee leaves and they can't get Bolden, Cal is going after another big. That tells me that Cal isn't happy with Wynard at all as a contributor

No, it would mean we have only 6 players taller than 6'5, one of which is most effective on the perimeter.

If we end up losing Lee and Skal and miss on Bolden we will have some holes. Fouls will become a huge issue. Gabriel will have to play the 4 more, Wynyard will have to be able to play, and Humphries will have to improve dramatically. Could be another year without a rim protector, unless SKJ steps up. Will be interesting to see how things play out. Hopefully Yurtseven somehow works out.

Not ready to think that. We have 3 forwards coming in, all of them have been trending upwards for the last year. We have a drastically improved Willis, a big body true-center in Hump who will have an off season to get in shape. He showed improvement later in the season. No reason he can't be a 6 and 7 guy by SEC next year IF he gets minutes. And that's assuming we get no one else AND lose Lee.

People don't realize just how bad things went for us this past season. We had one of the biggest top5 recruiting busts in history, senior power-forward who just never came alive, and a guard whose shot was so rattled that he'd have never been a top100 recruit otherwise. When you factor in Briscoe and Skal's woes, never even playing Wynyard, Kentucky doesn't even have a top5 class, and probably the worst class under Cal. Couple that with Poy's injuries and timidness, and it makes for a truly abnormal, head-scratching year.

We won't have a recruiting bust like Skal.
We won't have a guard whose shooting percentages get cut in half.
We won't have a senior who can't lead.
We even had pretty substantial injuries throughout the year.

Not to bash these kids, but those were 3 players Cal really had to rely on, and in one way or another, to one extent or another, they all missed the mark. There's no chance that happens next year.

TL,DR:

Kentucky was playing with 1-hand tied behind it's back all year. A perfect storm of things that kept holding us back which just won't happen next year, not even close.

You are so right. It really sucked having a too small for the NBA PG going from not in the draft to AA, SEC, POY talk...(yadda, yadda) mid 1st round. It was really bad.

What does one players individual accomplishments have to do with anything I said? I'm as happy for Ulis as the next guy.. But his amazing play doesn't overshadow the three others who more or less disappointed.

Not to mention, we couldn't even make the sweet16.. Atleast we had an excuse in 2013 as we just won the title and lost Noel for the year..

Terrible, irrelevant post.

I agree that your butt hurts about this season, mine does too. It was a great season that ended much to soon. I have found that moaning about yesterday does little to improve tomorrow.
I appreciate what I receive, instead of moaning about what I didn't.

OK like I have said over and freaking over. We WILL get Bolden. I mean if HE wants UK HE will pick UK. He ain't gonna listen to his mom on something like this. I mean come on. BUT. If we're talking about another scenario. Remember last year when Malik Newman decided to be retarded and we got J-Dawg to reclassify? Uh yeah well. Don't y'all think that we'd kinda do the same s*** again. But this time with a big man. Deandre Ayton anyone?

The point was the bring to light just how a plethora of things didn't go our way, because many here are worried about next year. It was to say "there's no possible way we can have x, y and z happen again". None of it was complaining.

Our front court will be fine. We finally have small forwards. Our holdovers will continue to improve.

The appeal of a Duke education over UK doesn't have anything to do with how much Bolden will learn in one year. It has to do with Duke having a lot of very rich alumni that would be more than happy to do a favor or work with Bolden in the future just because he played basketball there. It costs almost twice as much to go to Duke than it does UK.

How are you just so dumb each and everyday?

Just because I feel we will get Bolden and Briscoe and Lee will come back. First up Briscoe will be back and Lee most likely will, but even if he goes, its not a big deal. 2nd up. Bolden WANTS TO COME HERE. He's not gonna let momma decide where he plays in college. But tell me this? Who the **** are you bruh? Calling me dumb each and every day? I'm a hardcore fan dude. I'd take a bullet to the leg if it meant us getting Bolden. Or I would let somebody break my leg if it meant us getting Bolden. We have to get him so failure isn't an option. You shouldn't just accept some BS man. People like you are all like "Oh yeah rats we didn't get him" I'm like go take a baseball bat to a tree pissed off when we miss out. But seriously though. We'll get Bolden. Mark it down cuz.

Who the hell cares about education when you're a superstar athlete? I mean Bolden is gonna be in the NBA making millions. It doesn't even matter if he cant read.

Don't be naive and believe that mom is the only one who likes Duke. UK PR guys throw that out there so fans like you buy into the notion that "the only reason he went to Duke is because of his mom!" I'm sure you'll prove me right whenever he commits and you're disappointed posts about hi Duke pick in a couple of weeks. But hey, at least you have an excuse as to why UK didn't land him.

I do think that parents do have a big say in where their son plays College Ball. We have seen though like last year that we thought since most of Luke Kennard's family was huge Kentucky fans that we get Luke Kennard but he chose Duke. When Nerlens Noel was deciding many experts and media was saying mom wanted him on East Coast with either Syracuse or UCONN but he decided on UK. I think alot of times and with the Harrison Twins everyone was saying that parents went to Maryland and alot of Media and Experts were saying Maryland and they picked Kentucky. I think the family in the end gives their opinion and then tells the son to pick where he would like to play his College Basketball. I don't always think that the Mom and Dad says you will go to this School or else. I do think most parents let the kids decide who they would like to play for as their Coach and which team would they like to play for in college basketball. We all know how Fox, Monk, and team has been recruiting him hard as well as Coach Cal. Now that Skal is gone and if Lee would leave that only leaves Hump and Wynyard both actually in 1st year and as young as Bolden and he would feel he would get that playing time that he wants in 1st year.

Ayton probably won't even be eligible NEXT YEAR , there is ZERO chance he could reclassify and be eligible THIS year. You live in fantasy land dude .

Missing out on Bolden just to lose what would of been a Great get in Allen. Defaulting to Hump/Wynyard in the post at the 5 next year doesn't sound to appealing. Offer Allen say you're sorry the scholarship took so long and he will be a star at UK. if that doesn't work offer Ferguson and run a 4 guard dribble drive with Bam in the middle.

That would never happen at UK. Think UK players, coaches and car dealerships relationships. That's what alumni does.

Man I don't know the details about his situation. I've just seen people on here say that. What the hell did he even do? And its not unrealistic to think we could get SOME big man to reclassify.

Bolden would be a fool to go to Duke. Cal is the best big man coach in the country, and that isn't debatable. It wouldn't be wise to pass that opportunity up. That is, if he has any hope of being one-and-done. At Duke he comes off the bench and has to compete with Jeter for the remaining minutes behind Jefferson. At Kentucky, he starts and plays 25 minutes a game. But hey, if he wants to go to Duke, sit the bench for a year, then set screens the rest of his career, more power to him.

Except we're gonna get him. I don't understand why all of a sudden people think he;s going to Dook. I mean that's just dumb. People don't really know s***. Last year nobody thought we'd get Murray. This year I told this poster who said Bam was a LOCK to NCST that Bam could change his mind and nothing was definite. Well. How'd that turn out. Nobody knows man. More than likely we'll get Bolden because he knows he'll get more minutes and start at the 5 here.

I have NO idea where Bolden will end up. I will point out here your projection with praise if he signs with UK.
Should I say anything if he chooses puke?

Man if that happens I'll be the first to admit I was wrong. But I just don't see it happening. I get like gut feelings about certain things, and my instinct says he'll be a cat.
