Forde needed to take a dig at UK somehow so his pre Final Four column was "Who to pull for this year, a likability scale". You can imagine where he placed us. Michigan State had like 150 points, Wisconsin 120 points, Duke one point and us zero. Or something like that.

So Jones has been killing it on twitter.

* Cowrite a book with your coaching/drinking buddy, then cover his extortion trial pretending to be unbiased two months later, deduct 50 points
* Claim at a coach's introductory press conference that you're going to get him fired, and six years later he's still there, deduct 75 points.
* Get suspended not once but twice for ethical violations at your former employer, deduct 40 points.
* Be forbidden by your former employer to cover a school 60 miles from your house because of your inability to be unbiased, deduct 50 points.
* Wear this hat (picture of Forde wearing a woman's Derby hat), deduct 75 points.

It's awesome. Forde's buddy Mark Coomes was going back and forth with Jones earlier, and now I know why.

Ole Hog Jowls Forde probably hasn't slept well in a while knowing his Tards are out and UK is headed toward CBB immortality.

Actually would like to see Forde's breakdown on why this UK team is unlikeable? Every other journalist out there has indicated if you take UK off their chest it is probably one of the most likeable teams to come along in awhile and are everything that college athletics should be about.

I usually avoid Forde columns like the plague, but I was curious as to how anyone can find this team to be unlikeable. So here's a breakdown. As an initial point he started this column because he was watching the UK v. Notre Dame game in Syracuse and was shocked, SHOCKED, that everyone at the bar was dissapointed when UK won. I guess he failed to mention the bar was full of UofL fans attended their regional final in Syracuse that weekend.

At any rate, his argument breaks down as follows:
-UK loses points for having too many McDonalds All-Americans
-Michigan St's starting point guard has a funny name.
-Calipari looks like a mob boss
-add points for WCS being a fun guy
-UK somehow loses points based on a convoluted reason which isn't true. Our basketball alumni don't come to games or know the fight song.
-UK loses point for being on ESPN too much
- [shocker] Cal loses point because Final Fours were vacated (much like Forde's marriage was vacated after his affair).
-Cal loses point because he complained (he didn't) about Coach K coaching in the Olympics.
-UK loses points for being so good we expect to win titles
-Wisconsin is rewarded for not winning a title since before WWII
-gain points for having Ashley as a fan
-lose points for having WWW as a fan. (somehow this isn't applied to Duke even though K and WWW are buddies).
-Gain points for fans traveling well, although not all of the available points for reasons that aren't clear.
-lose points because Cal doesn't act goofy at BBMadness, and because he said "We ARE College Basketball"

That is pretty much it.

The first person to promote this column on Twitter was none other than USBWA President Dana O'Neil.

Gee, I really wonder why Calipari didn't win the USBWA Coach of the Year award.

The most points UK loses is for constantly putting a whippin' on his Cards.

Pat Forde is the single biggest anti-UK talking head on the planet. His unexplainable loathing for Calipari is near legendary at this point.

Remember when journalists were professionals and not some jackoff goober with a speech impediment and a Twitter account? Those were the days.

The sad thing is that I always thought that Forde was a talented writer (form not content) in his early days at the Courier Journal. Then some sort of inexplicable, bizarre hatred of UK emerged and it has ultimately ruined his reputation. Him and Billy Reed are of the same ilk -- neither have a shred of credibility...

What ethical violations did Forde get suspended for and who was the employer?

Well said, both of their respective careers have plummeted as they have grown older. Likewise, as they have aged they have become increasingly bitter, resentful, less professional, petulant and mean spirited.

I believe he was suspended for trying to entice UofL players to rat on Denny Crum. He was going around sliding quarters under players' doors and the CJ suspended him.

And I'm not sure if Forde mentioned it in his article (I just skimmed), but I doubt he talked about the fact that Bo Ryan tried to basically strongarm Jarrod Uthoff into staying at Wisconsin when Uthoff wanted to transfer out. That's pretty unlikeable.

If Cal had done something like that, Forde would be leading the brigade to have Cal fired.

One had to do with his investigation of UofL basketball while with the CJ. I'm sure someone knows the details on this.

The second is rumored to have been due to him screwing around with a female who was playing volleyball for UofL at the time.

Jones, Nice recall. ANYONE can throw out a bunch of juvenile insults. But, to actually nail Forde with facts is priceless.

As someone already mentioned, this was just a way for Forde to attack Calipari and Kentucky, while hiding it under the pretense of a "fun piece."

His shills ate it up:

Dana O'Neill said: "Perfectly hilarious"
Nancy Armour (USA Today columnists): "This is all kinds of awesome."

So you have one of two prominent Yahoo columnists writing what is essentially a hit piece on Calipari followed by an ESPN columnist and USA Today columnist lapping it up. That's three of the biggest outlets out there and three of their columnists think an article like that is "awesome" and "hilarious."

And UK fans are looked at as crazy or paranoid when we say there are certain media types with biases... give me a break. This doesn't even include Jeff Goodman, who has said in the past he does not like Calipari.

Forde is an insignificant little lap dog. Nothing more than one of Slick Rick's pets. One day he will look back on his life and come to the same conclusion many of us have already drawn....He has done absolutely nothing of real significance with his life, unlike Cal.

Guys like he and Goodman only come up with angles like this when Kentucky is left. Forde also covers college football. Can you recall him ever taking shots at Alabama, even though they have been on probation several times and vacated several seasons? Or Ohio State, which just came off probation? Or Oregon, which is about to be on probation? Or Florida State, which swept so much stuff under the rug the rug is four inches off the ground?
