If it's a hand injury he doesn't necessarily have to miss any games. It's not like he can shoot anyways. It will just be about pain tolerance. He can still clean the glass better than anyone else on the team even with a broken finger or two.

Jones said towards the end of the show he’s hearing it’s the same foot. Maybe not same injury, but something with it. Not good if true

Well. Where are all the posters who crucified that guy last night calling him a troll? I mean, I saw the rumors myself on Twitter.

This sucks. I don’t like the sound of day-to-day. What else would they say even if it was really serious?
Oh trust me, the OP still deserves ****.

Because history and common sense.

Because he clearly stated in the post it's an opinion. The responsibility is on you to read that and understand it.
There is nothing to understand. Why post something with zero inside information? He doesn’t even know what the injury is. Terrible tweet!

Lmao, I keep reading people say they are protecting his stock...what stock? He's not even listed on but maybe 1 draft and it's outdated and worthless. Compound that with a history of foot injuries that have caused him to miss a lot of game time the last few years and the fact he can't shoot at all, or even makes layups and tip-ins consistently, he isn't getting drafted. If he wants to play overseas or in the G league then he could go, but if his dream is the NBA, he will have to stay here injury free for at least a season. Even with that he still has to demonstrate at least a basic ability of actually shooting and scoring.

We also lost 7 games with Vanderbilt playing. We all know he makes us better, but our resume with and without him isn't substantially different.

Maybe it drops us a seed line or so. Just makes it easier for them to setup whatever matchup suits them.
We played better competition during the time he came back. Vanderbilt will be a huge loss for tourney.

His hustle and rebounding cannot be replaced and he also a great passer.

That type of player is the difference in making a huge game changing play in a tournament game on hustle alone.

I am beginning to think someone is doing some kind of voodoo on our team. Since Cal has been here we have had a season ending injury to WCS which affected our tournament run, a season ending injury to Poythress that in my opinion cost us a title, Vanderbilt's early injury and now this one, Jamarl Baker season ending injury plus others that were for several games. Meanwhile Duke plays guys 39 minutes per game and hasn't had near the bad luck with injuries. Some bad mojo going on.

maybe you need to find another S&C coach or new team trainer? if injuries keep happening it could be because of one of them isn’t doing something right.

Does this make it even more unlikely he goes first round? Are teams going to risk taking him with this many injuries?

If the NBA drafts an injury prone player that can't shoot in the first or 2nd round then I question whether that GM is trying to win. I'm not saying it won't happen, but they'd be crazy to risk that on a guy that has these kinds of problems.

The one that deserves the apology is Richards. Looks like we’re going to have to dig him out of the trash some of our “fans” buried him under.

Have we confirmed it’s his foot? There was a point in the Florida game where Vanderbilt was shaking his hand as if he jammed a finger but seemed okay after that. Praying maybe it’s just a minor hand injury and he is truly day to day.

The original injury occurred in the Jordan Brand All-Star game last year BEFORE he was a UK player, hard to fault anyone at UK for that happening.

Vanderbilt had a stress fracture in his left foot the summer after his junior season and another injury to the left foot before his senior season.

He injured his right foot at the end of the Jordan Brand game and that's what he has been dealing with all season.

The kid has bad feet. Had them before he got here. Has them now. If he's going to get paid to play basketball, doing so as soon as possible, at whatever level will pay him, is the move. He has a UK degree whenever he wants it. Those feet can't take any more injuries for free.

Not trying to be mean, but I think some people don't read.

I never said or implied that it wouldn't hurt us as a team. I was only talking about our resume.

The NCAA shouldn't judge us too harshly because our overall resume isn't that much different with or without Vanderbilt.

And I'm being consistent. I said in a post the other day that having him available wouldn't help our seeding, for the same reason.

I know where you're coming from, but I will disagree in this case, depending on the details.

If he's getting 2nd round money and a G-League contract, he might be much better off sticking it out in Lexington until he can get things straightened out.

If he's getting first round money and care from NBA team doctors, by all means. Take the money and run. (I know, I know).

Very tricky situation. I also figured he shouldn't play another game for his own NBA potential.. but then I thought, well, was he even going to get drafted in the 1st? And now with another injury, who is going to take him now?

Unfortunately, he might be forced to come back next season and hope to hell he stays healthy for a year.

I disagree, or actually not necessarily disagree entirely, but I think there's other options he should consider.

Let's not just dismiss the fact that the vast majority of players are not going to return to college. They'll have kids, families, responsibilities. Also, to dismiss the fact that a lot of these guys are young, immature, and uneducated, not to mention are surrounded by people with their hand out, isn't the most honest assessment. Most of these guys have no clue how to handle a couple hundred thousand dollars. It's gone as soon as it comes in with some.

If it's big money, guaranteed, sure, I can go along with that. It it's iffy, I think there's nothing wrong with being open to getting as close to that degree as you can for safety. If he can make half a million overseas tomorrow, barring injury, he could probably do it in a few years as well.

With Vanderbilt it's a tough call, because of his conditions. But I just hate how people with the security of a college degree and good jobs goes about telling others to skip it and chase greed. I know that's not what you're doing, but in a general sense it happens a lot. There is nothing more important than an education. It's not just about the degree.

I heard that he was guarding SGA on a switch in practice. SGA did a sick crossover move and broke Vando's ankles. PJ was seen laughing on the sidelines.

I'll trade you my Memphis degree for your UK degree? It will even make you appear younger?

Game?
