He has a scholarship for life so it makes zero sense to stay and continue to get hurt

Unless no one will draft him because of injury concerns. Or he looks like a 2nd round pick at best.

Then being on campus at UK working on his degree might make a lot more sense.

I agree that if he has a 1st round guarantee he should go. Will he?

Gotta assume he's done for the year at this point. If he is, there's no reason or need for UK to announce it right now. Sit on it til after the Selection Show.

I have seen people saying that no one has confirmed it is a foot injury. All I am saying is that on KSR someone called in and said that they saw his Instagram story and he was wearing a splint on his fingers. Hopefully it is just a finger or hand injury and he can play through that.

This year has now turned out exactly like the NIT year. 21-10 record, unwatchable play, and a key injury.

I would say UK is a lock for the NIT now. This year is way too similar to 12-13.
Except we have some good wins this season... oh and we could still advance in the sec tourney which we lost the first game of in the nit season. But minus vando that hurts us so bad

That was PJ’s instagram not Vanderbilt’s

I understand the concern with Vanderbilt's injury history, but I don't see any reason to automatically assume it's a foot injury and Vanderbilt is done for the year. It could be something very minor that doesn't affect his playing time at all. MJ is wrong about as often as he is right. Until more info becomes available, I will assume it's a minor injury and he is truly day-to-day.

If Vanderbilt is injured where does he go? No one will draft him. He would likely elect for surgery and be forced to play another year of college ball. Unless he goes to Europe no one is going to draft him with guaranteed money

If that does indeed happen then this would be one of the most disappointing player careers I've seen at UK. He can't help his body is injury prone but with the hints of talent he has shown if would be amazing to see him at his best for a year here.

Jason Parker 2.0. Hopefully doesn't come to that.

Well. Where are all the posters who crucified that guy last night calling him a troll? I mean, I saw the rumors myself on Twitter.

This sucks. I don’t like the sound of day-to-day. What else would they say even if it was really serious?
Troubling pattern with type of injury with him.

g-league will probably take him. It isn't much but he should earn SOMETHING off basketball before his foot goes for good. It's sad but it is what it is.

It would be nice if he does decide to stay in school just because he's so fragile he will definitely need something to fall back on. I don't know if his body would hold up playing basketball as much as professionals do.
Do you honestly think for a minute that 90% of these kids worry about "something to fall back on"...Alex Poythress is making REALLY GOOD money right now with a masters degree.

I am beginning to think someone is doing some kind of voodoo on our team. Since Cal has been here we have had a season ending injury to WCS which affected our tournament run, a season ending injury to Poythress that in my opinion cost us a title, Vanderbilt's early injury and now this one, Jamarl Baker season ending injury plus others that were for several games. Meanwhile Duke plays guys 39 minutes per game and hasn't had near the bad luck with injuries. Some bad mojo going on.
Coach K is Satan. They are not called "Blue Devils" for nothing. His kids always get to play but lose their soul.
