Hoping it is not that serious and he can return 100%. If it is his foot, I agree with others, he will probably be shut down for the season if there is even a doubt of possibility he has a chance to further injure it.

This year has now turned out exactly like the NIT year. 21-10 record, unwatchable play, and a key injury.

I would say UK is a lock for the NIT now. This year is way too similar to 12-13.

We also lost 7 games with Vanderbilt playing. We all know he makes us better, but our resume with and without him isn't substantially different.

Maybe it drops us a seed line or so. Just makes it easier for them to setup whatever matchup suits them.

Big opportunity for SKJ. He was whining about PT, right? This is your chance kid.
I couldn't agree more. Put your money where your mouth is. I'm just afraid Cal will throw Richards in there for 25 mins a game now. I'm afraid we may have won out last game this year. Without Vando, we are very weak on the glass.

Geeeeez. I'm afriad this will be a WCS 2014 situation - where no one really said what happened and said he might be back, but after the season they finally told the truth... he was not coming back at any point in that tournament.

I'm on the pessimist side saying that this expedites his departure from UK. He needs to get some sort of paycheck before his foot gives out for good, similar to Harry Giles. If he suffers a career ending foot injury at UK next year, that's on us.

I hope he recovers fully, but wow... we just cannot catch a break whatsoever.

Cal will NOT reveal anything about this injury if it has anything to do with his previous foot injuries. Cal will protect the kid above all else. He will also protect our team's NCAA Tournament seed.

As someone else mentioned above, If he doesn't play in Friday's game, I don't look for him to play any more this season. Then an announcement will most likely be made on Monday.

Hope it wasn't anything serious and he comes out strong on Friday.

Snakebit season.

I am beginning to think someone is doing some kind of voodoo on our team. Since Cal has been here we have had a season ending injury to WCS which affected our tournament run, a season ending injury to Poythress that in my opinion cost us a title, Vanderbilt's early injury and now this one, Jamarl Baker season ending injury plus others that were for several games. Meanwhile Duke plays guys 39 minutes per game and hasn't had near the bad luck with injuries. Some bad mojo going on.

What kind of crack are you on? We're in even if we lose the first SEC tourney game. We're in with Vando or no Vando. How far we can go is the question, but were IN for sure. Sheesh.

'Confirmed by Matt Jones' means the aliens took him back up on the mothership and gave him that probe thing again. That's his 'confirming source'.

We don't even know if he injured his foot. There is a rumor it could just be a finger or hand injury. Someone on KSR just called in and said that on his story he was wearing some type on splint. I am not giving up hope it could be minor.

I did not blast the OP, but fwiw Vanderbilt is injured but he did not go to UK hospital. Hopefully it isn't that serious

My opinion right now-
JV is done for the season. He probably has a significant injury. School not releasing anything as of yet isn't out of the norm; but if we don't hear anything specific later today or tomorrow morning - probably means we are trying to protect a seed line; as well as trying to protect JV stock. Doesn't looks or sound good to me.

How do you know he didn't go to the hospital? Confirmed?
Well if you believe Matt Jones. He said that UK has their own trainers, and Vanderbilt didn't go to hospital.. I would think if there was a break he would have been at the hospital. I heard it on radio can't link it
