Brown is gone 300%. His recruiter is gone (Lucas) and then his coach gets canned. Guess where his recruiter went?
Agree he’s gone, but I assumed to the nba draft before this news. My post was more concerning Bassey and that clown Stransbury being tipped off.

I keep asking this.. but where's the room? Sure, I'll take talents like CB or Brown.. but that has to mean someone is going to leave or de-commit. We are already pretty covered at PF/C..
would you pass up an opportunity to improve the team just because someone else might leave or decommit?

I like WKU sports since i’m from glasgow, but damn. Stansbury sucks! He’s had some of the most talented WKU teams since Jim McDaniels was there and he can’t even make the tourney?!?!?!
I went to WKU for undergrad. Root for them right behind UK. Unreal they can't win in that conference with a talent like Bassie. I'll take him here.

I don't know if CB or Brown are THAT much better than Brooks when you take into account Brook's starting his 3rd year here and having experience to use on the new/young guys. I also think something like this could send the wrong message to future recruits, that we just toss aside a player not ONLY for a new recruit, but also a transfer.

But yeah, I do think CB and Brown are better talents..

Not to mention they had a 4 star guard in Rawls, had a stud PF in Williams and of course they had the talented lexington native Hollingsworth. Like wtf? I read where Stansbury has lost 4 straight conference title games at WKU. Pitiful coach.

Sometimes I just think we know our players better and therefore notice when they get recruited over and buried. It happens everywhere.

That's true. I'm not totally against the move. I'm just cautious about adding any one and everyone and I think cohesion and experience are key. At the rate we're going, we're going to have to think about platooning again.

Greg Brown is currently listed as a 1st rounder in most mocks. He is listed at 18 to the Celtics in a couple. That would be a huge a get if he transfers. That would likely make him the top rated transfer in the portal. Which means if we landed him, we would have the top 3 rated transfer players for 2021.

Isn't Greg Brown the same kid who threw a hissy-fit in the middle of a game. No thanks. We've had enough of that the last couple of years to do for the rest of the program's history. If not, my apologies to Greg Brown.

Bassey, hell yea. You find a way to make it work if he wants to come.

From what I gather, that was a text to someone that accidentally showed up as a Tweet. Depending on how you have your phone set up, this can happen.

Bassey and Tshiebwe as the front court is some kind of fantasy.

I say Brooks transfers considering he’s not feeling kentucky life, and we get Bassey and Brown.
I’m good with that. I just don’t feel as if Brooks has “it”. He’s played two years here and has been meh. Not big enough to play on the interior and can’t handle or shoot nearly well enough to play on the perimeter.

Plus, there’s word out that he doesn’t like it here. Loves Cal but doesn’t like UK? Combine that with his comments over the summer about Coach Rupp and that tells me all I need to know basically. Need guys that really WANT to be here. No in between.

there is a gap. Cal wants 4 bigs to rotate at the 4 and 5. Toppin isn’t a cal type 4 neither is brooks. OT is undersized for a center. I fully expect another impact big to come aboard if Jackson stays in.
We can only hope. We need one for sure

Looking at Brown's stats I noticed he played 13, 6 and 6 minutes the last 3 games. Was he injured or in Shaka's doghouse?

Wouldn't you think this is more much to do about nothing?

Aren't both projected as a lottery pick?

I would think if they went anywhere, it would be to the bank.

I didn't see them at all this year, how is Bassey doing? He was highly rated out of HS but we all know how that goes sometimes. My entire family went to WKU but UK comes first

Why not, even if you can’t get the top PG out there find the fastest PG available and bring him in. Let these dudes fight it out for PG.

Use common sense. If you are transfering, you likely are doing it to either A) unhappy with your playing time and you want more of that, B) unhappy with the coaches or system, or C) want to go where you can improve your chances at getting drafted.
If you are leaving for A or C, then you are not likely wanting to go to a school with 10-13 good players. You want to go where there are 7 or less good players, and then some scrubs.

That really sucks because I feel as though he’s had major support from the fans while he’s been here. I still want him back but it’s disappointing to hear he doesn’t like it here. I don’t know why.

We have 13 scholarships. We should take every advantage we can after that trainwreck of a season, IMO. How do you say "no" to either? Yes, there are lots of bodies currently at PF/C, but all are unproven at a consistent high level and we may still have attrition.
