It's more fun to speculate and take the negative twist. It will all settle out in due time, I can't help it along. The next few weeks/months are going to be interesting on here. Stayed tuned, the drama has just begun.

Frost (like every other coach including Riley) deserves to have the staff he wants. Then the head coach is accountable for the results.
The head coach deserves to have the guys he wants BUT, I will be VERY disappointed IF Frost were to hire Davison say to be his WR coach. Davison could probably be a good coach, but he has never done it. Davison has zero recruiting contacts with high schoolers right now. Davison has no experience coaching at the college level. It would be a very bad decision IMO. IF you want to hit the ground running and not penalize yourself for the next 3-4 years, you hire experienced coaches with a network of relationships already built with recruits.

No way he will hire MD as his WR coach. The speculation in this thread is some sort of quality control and that is pretty much out of left field.

Not real sure that's the case this time. He is going to get a massive amount of rope to right this ship.

IF Davison wants to coach then QC is a good place for him to start and they could maybe pay him a little more there than as a GA. He could help with WRs and learn on the job what Frost teaches in his offense. It would be crazy to pass on KW to hire Matt. I suppose you could get MD up to speed so when KW jumps to the NFLWinking a few years from now you've got your guy in place. The tough thing for us may turn out that other schools are going to want to hire Frost's assistants IF they have the offensive success at NU that they had at UCF.

I would like to see both Williams's kept on staff but I doubt it happens. And I do think Davison would be good in some capacity as well.
But dingle.... Chevy Chase? lol

Davison not fired. He will be part of Frost’s staff - but not a coach. An operations role.

Jake Muhleisen is the likely color commentary replacement for Davison.

I hired Matt to be part of my personal entourage. He's in charge of yelling at the others in the group if they're slacking! ;)

Funny, I was just thinking about this yesterday. I always wondered how Mr. Phelps could park a Cintas van next to a top secret facility in a communist country for two days and none of the bad guys noticed.

Matt's new role will be to follow Scott around and catch his cellphone before it hits the floor in case he drops it.

Ahh...lol. I see what you did there. Is there going to be somebody to kick it up in the air first too???

Interesting. I heard back on November 7th that Davison was going to, and quote "leave his radio job to become the head of football operations. AKA... Frost's right hand man."

Thought it was BS at the time because, well, that was very early in the rumor mill. Interesting how things are shaping up because, if it turns out to be true, then it appears that Frost (and others) knew his destination quite a while ago.

They weren't that bad, but when you are a member of an organization, and I do believe the radio broadcast team are loosely "part of the organization", you don't bag on the organization. And he was bagging on the organization. The organization wants someone more like Don Bryant who would be upbeat and jolly even if a nuclear was were going on.
I agree with you, but in that case, can someone explain to me how Brian Rosenthal still has a job in the AD then? All he does is bag on the organization on Twitter. Seems as if he's forgotten that he doesn't work for the newspaper anymore.

This was my thought. Hard not to show bias when he is so close.

Totally agree with Dubs. Has to be his choice.

There’s no way Nebraska is firing a close friend of the soon to be named HC (and guy who saved the 1997 season in Columbia) for being critical on the air of the program during the worst season in modern history.

Besides, our Athletic Director talked about the SEC eating it’s young and then says I’ve said worse.

Mike Riley was not the organization.
Had he pretended it was okay, he would THEN have been bagging on the organization.
Riley was worse for husker football than the radio was. Period.

Personally I could never go to work "for" any of my best friends, but that's cool for Matt if that's what he wants to do. The guy certainly bleeds Husker red.
