Lots of Husker fans wanted him. Not that I blame them, it sort of made sense right at the time Frost got fired.

Winners win. It's not that he's a bad guy. He just isn't a top tier coach.

Every big time program has fallen into slumps and they revolve around low performance coaches not being able to get the job done.

You got it or you don't. No school's threshold on earth gives coaches the midas touch once they step over it into the coach's office just because they got Suck U up to .600.

You're right. They've both walked into very similar situations at each head coaching stop.

EDIT: Campbell was an assistant coach at Toledo for 3 years before taking that HC gig. While Rhule lost half of the Baylor team due to the criminal allegations that were going on.

Rhule makes $9 mil a year. Tugging Tucker made $9 mil a year. He probably missed between $4-5 million a year. So he is missing something.

He also missed out on failing at a college that was too big for his ability.

The bottom fell out for Iowa State, but Campbell didn't become successful by dumb luck. He's still a good coach. They should let him rebuild the program. They will be back.
